David Stern has suspended NBA ref Joey Crawford indefinatly for the ejection of Tim Duncan during Sunday's Spurs/Mavs game. The suspension will last throughout the playoffs though.

For those who don't know what happened, Duncan was sitting on the bench talking to teammates and got a technical. A couple minutes(seconds) later, Duncan and Horry started laughing after Josh Howard got fouled, and TD got his second T. Crawford also kept asking Duncan if he wanted to fight.

This is why David Stern is the best GM in sports. Crawford is a good ref, but is a bit of a head case (and is the quickest to give out techs). If you saw what happened, you know Crawford was out of line.

I think this was warranted. He got what he deserved.Refs dont need TV time, just make the correct calls.

Duncan got fined 25,000,couldve been worse.

So Crawford is out for the whole Playoffs?

and probably more. Chris Sheridan thinks that Crawford might be done with the NBA.

Stern was on ESPNNEWS and said he has had a couple talks with Joey keeping his cool during games so this has been a reoccurring problem.

Yep hes gone fishing...finally a ref pays for his actions on the court.Best work Ive seen Stern do.

Good, I never liked Joey. The best officials are the ones who you never notice, because they put the game first, and are not trying to be the star.

25,000 for Timmy huh? Man that sucks for him

Good for Stern though. Just goes to show what Crawford did was wrong, no matter what anyone thinks.

25 grand for timmy is like me or giving 5 bucks to a bum. It's nuthin.

Its Joey's choice not to come back. He was only going to be suspended for the rest of this year, but hes the one that told Stern that he would not be returning

I would've liked to have seen him and Tim Duncan fight. I'm sure it would've been a fair fight. :rolleyes2

im kind of glad, hes one of those guys that wants the attention to go to the refs rather than the game. Refs are supposed to stay out of the game but crawford likes to make the game about the refs.
