Helllo, i am new to this forum. Just like to say i am a big fan of the NFL, i follow players, stats etc. I would just like to start off by saying you guys got the biggest steal in acquiring Joey Harrington. I have been forced to watch the Lions over the past couple of years because my favorite player (Dre Bly) is stuck on that abomination of a organization. The Lions have got the be the worst and dumbest organization in the history of sports. Anyways, Detroit had the worst offensive line i have ever seen in my life. Those guys couldnt block 4 rushers with 8 blockers. If you watch some of the games last year, Joey didnt even have a second to breathe, on ANY play. Most of his throws were off his back foot, or running and rushing a throw. He had no confidence, and confidence and being comfortable in the pocket is a major factor in being successful in the QB position. I don't care who you are, Peyton Manning couldn't have succeeded in that environment. Harrington has never gotten a real chance. When i watched yesterdays preseason game. ON his second set , he stayed in the pocket, looked poised, and threw a strike right as he was getting hit on 3rd down and long (which some guy dropped?? How did he drop that?) I couldn't beleive it was the same player. You guys have no idea what kind of player you're sitting on if given a chance. If you don't think Saban and the rest of the coaches are realizing how good this kid is right now, you are mistakenly wrong. I know you guys are gung-ho and satisfied with Culpepper, which is fine because he is a great player as well, BUT if Harrington ever gets a chance this year, Culpepper will probably not get his job back. I am happy this kid is finally given a chance to succeed, and i only hope he gets his chance. You guys don't realize just how good this kid can be. Hopefully soon you will. Anyways this is your year! N.E. Jets and Buffalo are gonna be horrible this year. The division is already yours. I wish you guys the best and hope everyone stays healthy so you can be one of the top teams like you should be. Good luck this year

P.S. ill be back when Harrington finally gets his chance to see this thread full of "Harrington is God" posts!!! =)

Well I can't say I have quite as much confidence in Joey that you do, I will say whatever happened to Joey in Detroit it's not a good place to judge his talent. I think Joey will be better in Miami then in Detroit. I think we have more talent and better coaching, I think Joey showing signs of improvement however small, shows that there is a good chance he wasn't in a good situation in Detroit. I don't think Joey is as good as Daunte, but I do think Joey can win here in Miami if called upon. Thanks for your post, some of us here like to read positive posts about our players.

I really love this thread i finally hear something from someone else that likes Joey and thinks he should be the starter i thought i was the only 1

In time he should get his chance. Daunte is #1 and going to be nomatter how good Harrington looks in preaseason. It's up to Daunte to lose that role. How were you guys to know Harrington is anything but a dud from his seasons in Detroit? You guys gambled and its going to work out. As Harrington keeps getting better working with an organization that knows how to handle players, you guys look to have your future locked up. Good job on getting him.

I hope Joey gets his time to shine so that we can get a good draft pick out of him in a couple years. Maybe like the ATL situation they have with Schaub. Imagine getting a 2nd rounder out of Joey. Talk about a good investment.

Welcome to the boards and good post. Totally agree with you, Harrington could turn out to be the next Steve Young, I've said it here many times before. Not ready to even THINK about not starting Daunte, but Harrington could be da bomb!

Welcome ofcourse !! and yup I'm pretty high on Joey myself, especially as a backup !
IMO if we hadn't gotten Pep as well.. we ( the fans ) would've been very excited to see JH lead this team. He still may get his chance. He was slingen it real nice in Charlotte tho.
