Here's a list of the 10 teams who have given up the most sacks in the league this year:

1 Lions 34
1 49ers 34
3 Steelers 31
4 Bengals 30
4 Patriots 30
6 Rams 28
7 Raiders 27
8 Bills 25
9 Chiefs 24
10 Vikings 23

Notice that 6 of our final 7 opponents are on the list. The sack record just might go down this year!!

Imagine week 17, Dolphins at the Meadowlands against the Jets...and in a game that could win us the division Joey Porter goes out and gets a LEGIT sack on Brett Favre to break the record that Favre had handed to Strahan on a silver platter in that same stadium 6 years ago.

that would be great, thats one of the reasons i hate bret favre, besides hes on the jets, i never really liked him he always complains, and the way he just gave away one of the toughest records to break just pissed me off.

I tried finding the video of Strahan's sack on Favre. I remember it when it happened, but was there a way Favre could have escaped? I don't think he was able to.

from espn.com:

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Michael Strahan of the New York Giants broke the NFL record for sacks in a season, and only Brett Favre will ever know if the record-setter was a gift.

Strahan got sack No. 22½ with 2:42 left in the fourth quarter Sunday, falling on Favre after the Green Bay Packers' quarterback rolled out and went down at the feet of the defensive end. The sack broke the 17-year-old record of 22 set by Mark Gastineau in 1984.

The play looked questionable because the Packers were leading 34-25 and Favre didn't have a blocker in front of him on the rollout.

Michael Strahan got the record with a fourth-quarter "sack" of Brett Favre.

Favre, who joked during the week that he might "work out a little side deal" with Strahan to allow him to get the record, called a run in the huddle, teammates said. The quarterback insisted he changed the play to a naked bootleg to catch the Giants off guard, something he's done five or six times this season.

.....

The Packers' linemen wouldn't say much, either. Tight end Bubba Franks had the blocking assignment on Strahan on the play.

"That was called as a running play," Franks said. "I don't know if it was a bad snap or what. I was run blocking. I didn't know it was a pass."

Another fine point. You're on a roll today.

nice work, i didn't think about this...
but your right, it looks very tasty... Hello sack record!

Wow, those 6 teams are averaging 28 sacks allowed, that comes out to 3.11 sacks allowed PER GAME.

I hope he sacks Cassel 4 times again next week.

The multiple sacks on Brett Favre will just be icing on the cake!
