I don't think this has been posted before, but with the Miami Dolphins recording 0 sacks on Marc Bulger, Joey Porter (14.5) has fallen into second place on the sacks list, half a sack behind Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware (15.0). I think we can still talk about Joey Porter going to the Pro Bowl (though I really think he is overrated because 1. the Dolphins give the QB all day to throw the ball on every play. Don't deny it cause its true. The Miami Dolphins absolutely suck on getting pressure on the QB. 2. 224 players have more tackles than Joey Porter. James Harrison also plays OLB and he is 27th in tackles (almost double the amount as Porter) and has only .5 a sack less than Porter.

we can forget about the Defensive Player of the Year talk that I heard in the beginning of the season

and we can definitely forget about the NFL sack record set by Michael Strahan (unless Porter gets 2 sacks a game (that would tie it at 22.5))

then again... Porter has been somewhat a supprise this year and for the most part he has backed up everything he's said. So go Joey!

Prior to the season everyone was calling for Porter's head. He's having the best season of his career. Records mean nothing unless it's wins and losses.

In all fairness to Joey Porter, I think his drop-off in numbers has to be in large part due to the fact that no other Dolphin has gotten near a quarterback since the beginning of the regular season. So he becomes the focus of the opposition's protection scheme.

This is by far Joey Porter's best year of his career. Sack leader or not, he is a beast this year. As for the Pro Bowl, he punched that ticket weeks ago.
