Anyone have any info on whether or not Parcells likes Porter as a linebacker???

In my opinion he was the the best player on our defense last year, along with Will Allen. I think I saw Porter burnt one time all year, on a play against the Browns. Other than that he was very fast, made a couple great interceptions, he also forced many many holding penalties against the players that were assigned to block him (as good as sacks).

Will Allen had a great year too and seemed to be our only corner who played solid all year long. He was always covering the other team's best reciever and definitely was the best player in our secondary.

I know Porter is under contract so he's likely to stay, but has Parcells said anything about him specifically?

I dont think he will let Will Allen or Joey Porter get away unless we can get alot for them in the draft

I think Poter and Allen should stay, if they don't this team could be in bad shape, there both very good players.

Porter started off pretty bad, but he picked it up as the year went along and finished really well. Parcells isnt the kind of person to run out the few good players we have, and even if he did want to get rid of Porter, my guess is he won't do it before next offseason anyway because the cap penalty would be much lighter. I would be surprised if he got rid of Will Allen. He said he wants to do a complete roster overhaul, with 35-40 new players over the next 2 years or so, but my guess is Will Allen is among the dozen or so that he intends to keep around.

Parcells wants high character guys....Porter needs to realize this and make sure he is focusing on his job and not running his mouth, or he won't be around long.

The reason Porter didn't play so well at the beginning of the year because he was coming off of knee surgery but when he was healed he turned it up. I think both will be part of the rebuilding process.

When he says high character, I've always had the feeling he was referring to guys who practice hard and are good TEAMMATES & locker room guys. Guys who are 100% into football. (Read - not ocho cinco)...

I don't think he is referring to the word 'character' in the same way that you are, in a boy scout way. ;)

Porter isn't going anywhere with a cap number of 11 Million. I thought he played better towards the end of the year. Will Allen was the most consistent DB last year and he is a given to be back.

Umm Chad Johnson puts football in front of his kids if that ain't 100% what is???

Marcellus Wiley had a great interview regarding Bill Parcells. Bill will sit you down and be honest when he thinks you cannot play the game anymore.

Regardless what your cap number is.....

I would love to dump porter and his overpriced AZZ but his salary cap hit from idiot Mueller is too high.

Besides he was lined-up as a DE! he's an OLB for God's sake!
