When did we pick this guy up?

I was just surfing on ESPN, checked out our roster and saw that we had him. I remember him coming out in the draft in 2004 because there was alot of hype surrounding him. Anyone know why he was cut in Dallas and Green Bay?

Im pretty pumped when I read this about the guy..

" BIO: Three-time All Big Sky selection that finished his senior season with 30/4/11 after a junior campaign of 16/0/6, missing six games with a knee injury. Posted 33/6/2 and 33/5/18 as a freshman and sophomore, respectively. Began his career at Washington.

POSITIVES: Nice-sized cornerback with outstanding size-speed numbers. Fluid reversing off the line, has the ability to flip his hips and then quickly breaks on the pass. Runs with opponents anywhere on the field, smooth changing direction and fights to defend the throw. Physically beats down opposing receivers and defends the run.

NEGATIVES: A bit quick coming out of his backpedal. Not instinctive, guesses wrong and slow turning back to the pass.

ANALYSIS: Physically Thomas competes with any cornerback in this draft though he must improve his instincts and anticipation. The combination of size, speed and strength make him enticing as a press-cover cornerback.

PROJECTION: Mid Second Round "

Should be fun to keep track of him if nothing else..

Well not that things get 'real' Im sure guys will move up and down the roster. i see him not staying the 5th CB. He may not start, but he'll definately be in the mix by the season opener.

I hope any of these guys replace Travis Daniels..

In my opinion, he is a Saban's failed experiment.........

Outside of maybe Will Allen, anything else in the secondary is up for grabs.

He hooked it up his rookie season. There's talent there and maybe he just needs the right coach to bring it back out.

Evertbody talks about how Coach Bowles schemes are very player friendly, and the number of INT's caught goes up. Well, who's to say that Travis Daniels isn't capable of a resurgence in this scheme. If we believe that Jason Allen and Yeremiah can do it, why not Travis? Really, I just want too see the guys that we drafted do well and become solid contributers for the team. I got lots of love for all of our homegrown guys, I want the best for all of them. If Travis can't get it done, so be it. But, I'll be rootin for him.

all i know is that i haven't been happy with the way daniels has performed at all.

Don't get your hopes up. Will Allen, Andre Goodman, Michael Lehan, Travis Daniels, and probably Nate Jones are all ahead of him. The guy is just not that good. Scorpio Babers or Will Billingsley could overtake him and that's saying something.

Thomas will be interesting to watch in camp. My other wild card is Titus Brown at LB.
