2004 16 games 3,047 yds 56.0 pct 19 TD 12 Int
2005 12 games 2,021 yds 57.0 pct 12 TD 12 Int

1. He played better in 2004 when they actually had a running game. Kevin
Jones ran for 1100 yards in 2004, last year only 600 in 13 games.

2. Plus he had Jeff Garcia looking over his shoulder last year.

3. Detroit wasted their last three first round picks on receivers that are no where near the level of Chambers and McMichael.

4. I was at the game against the Steelers on New Years Day
J. Harrington 17-33, 212 yds 3 TDs. If it wasn't for their special teams
they could have won that game.

5. If the run game is working like it should Mularkey will give the opposition
a heavy dose of Williams/Brown all afternoon. That's how he made
Maddox look like an All-Pro when he was the Coordinator in Pittsburgh.
Also why Mularkey was fired in Buffalo , they couldn't run and had to
put the game in the hands of J.P. Losman.

I couldn't be happier having Joey as our backup.
Super Bowl XLI Seattle vs Miami :dolphins:

I've always liked Joey Harrington as well. I don't think he'll ever be a great QB or MVP, but i think he can be solid. The problem in Detroit is they drafted Joey and expected him to become the savior of that pathetic franchise. Joey just doesn't have the physical capabilities of that. He is the type of QB that needs talent around him. He doesn't have the strongest arm to go deep all the time to keep safeties honest and can't really run if protection breaks down. But if he has a decent running game to keep him out of 3rd and long situations where he has to go deep, and if the line can give him a little time to make his progressions without getting beat up, i think Harrignton will be a solid QB in this league for someone.

If that was a question in English, I'd guess it meant what was his QB rating in 2004 & 2005???

If that is indeed the question, here is the answer:

2004 -- 77.5
2005 -- 72.0

The "big 3" Rodgers, R. Williams & M. Williams have greatly underachieved after being greatly overhyped & overrated. JH will be an excellent addition to the Phins and I'm not so sure he can't be a star or mvp down the line. Afterall he is still only 27 years old. That could leave him 8-10 years to even become a hall of famer a la Steve Young.

I'm not saying it will happen, but I am saying it could. I think he is potentially very talented with the right players around him (like here in Miami) and I am in total agreement about being thrilled to have him on the team (whenever it becomes official)!

Miami is an organization that knows how to win and Detroit is an organization that knows how to kill careers. I think we can jumpstart Harrington's.......CLEAR..........

I THINK I HEAR JOEY'S CAREER HEARTBEAT BEGINNING TO BEAT STRONGER & STRONGER!

That question was badly written, thanks for the answer anyway.

Btw, the ratings are low

I see you must like the Steelers somewhat judging by your avatar....

Here's something to chew on for you:

Terry Bradshaw Career Stats (14 years):
2025 comp / 3901 att --- 212 tds / 210 ints --- 51.9 comp % --- 27,989 pass yards --- 70.9 qb rating --- 88.0 highest ever season qb rating (1975)

Joey Harrington Career Stats (4 years):
188 comp / 330 att --- 60 tds / 62 ints --- 54.7 comp % --- 10,242 pass yards --- 68.1 qb rating --- 77.5 highest ever season qb rating (2004)

If Harrington plays a total of 14 years at his current pace:
658 comp / 1155 --- 150 tds / 217 ints --- 54.7 comp % --- 35,847 pass yards --- 68.1 qb rating

Overall these numbers are comparable and in some cases better than those of Hall of Fame QB Joe Namath.

Of course I believe Joey will exceed his current pace and be very good for another 8-10 seasons! Guess he will be in Canton too!!!
LOL

Oh no, I LOVE the Dolphins

I have Jack Lambert in my avatar only because I like defensive players (like him and Lawrence Taylor). Blackwood bros coming soon

Hmmm... so you say that Harrington can be our Terry Bradshaw? I hope so ;)

I think this is a pretty good assessment of Joey Harrington.

What I was trying to say is Bradshaw was a member of 4 Superbowl winning teams b/c he had players around him like the ones we can offer Harrington and quite honestly imo Bradshaw was average. His numbers are not really impressive. Look at the rating and comp% and td/int ratio

Average QB's can be made to look great by greatness around them. I think Harrington is potentially better than average and Culpepper is without question better than average when not hurt, so maybe JH or DC can lead us to a few Superbowl wins of our own in 2006 and beyond!

Some interesting points, but ...

... how is he going to exceed his current pace by being a back-up?

Yes, you can be right. We can make them part of a winning system

Cast and coaching are extremely important for a QB’s development. Case in point, if sissy arse Brady was in Detroit, in the exact same circumstances as Harrington, he would have failed miserably IMO. Why? Brady is a system player who lucked out being in the perfect place at the perfect time. Most players do not have the same incredible good fortune to ignite their careers.

Here’s another example: Steve Young was a total flop (more like a joke) in Tampa Bay and landed in San Fran --- where he was plugged into a system and wound up winning MVP and SB! It’s amazing what a “team†game the NFL is, so it’s always hard to isolate a QB in a vacuum and lay all the blame at his feet. The cast around the QB and the coaching/system are immensely important!

I’m not saying Harrington is a potential MVP QB, but history has shown stranger things to happen. At worst, to me, he would be an excellent upgrade as a #2 guy.

1. He won't be a backup at first from most accounts

2. Culpepper is reportedly by some accounts going to miss a significant portion of the 2006 season if not all

3. When he plays here, his numbers will go up drastically. We have playmakers that he can get the ball to unlike in Detroit.

I don't doubt Joey's talent - but I really question him turning down a GREAT opportunity with Mike Martz as the OC in Detroit this year. I think THIS was the year for Joey to turn it around. Imagine what Mike Martz did with all his QB's with the Rams. I think Martz could have made an all-pro out of Joey.

Just the same, if Martz could do it, so could Mularkey. Mularkey made Maddox into a VERY good player for 1 season.
