I look at this and I see Beck not having any weapons to throw to. Honestly, i'm thinking our best wr is Hagan right now. We need to catch the ball guys. until then, no qb we bring in will have success, not even Favre. I think Beck has the tools to be the guy here in Miami, just needs to grab the job by the nuts and run. I think he could do it, but if Henne wins the job and I see results and td's, I will be very pleased.
 
He never had time to do anything. That just reminded me how poor the O-line was blocking then.
 
Yeah that does stand out. Actually what stands out in that video is like, the slow destruction of his mechanics and his poise over the course of the game as the OL kept allowing guys to come right in at him over and over again.

He started the game off ok. As things got worse along the OL, his mechanics got worse, and so did his throws. He was a rookie.

I'd forgotten about that Aaron Halterman pass breakup in the end zone. That would have made a pretty sweet looking TD for the rookie Beck.
 
Geat post. Beck will be just fine this year. He has great pocket presence that can't be coached. He is a definate gamer.
 
Yikes...from watching the game I remember Beck playing better. Beck made some throws in that game that we haven't seen from Dolphin quarterbacks in a while, but he also was really, really antsy (moreso than I remember). That is understandable as it was his first start...I think if we can get him to settle down he'll be a good quarterback for us.

I don't know what you are talking about. What I saw actually got me even more disgusted of John Beck. The guy stinks. He throws an ugly sidearmed throw...and either underthrows, overthrows, and flat out gets too antsy and throws it at the wrong time.

This guy needs to sit or hold the board. I definitely want either Henne to win the job, or for McCown to hold us down until Henne is ready. Beck sucks. Ughh. :shakeno:

Absolutely true....

That video was actually fun to watch...Beck was fun to watch...he certainly has something special....if he could only lose his weaknesses..

Beck didn't look like peyton manning in this game but it was really not a bad debut for a rookie in philly with the pash rush that was coming at him. And I did see a handfull of dropped passes, that was not helping matters. Well know more Sat. against Tampa.

Statements like this serve two purposes:

1) Shows your true colors. Because you offer nothing but conjecture, you show yourself as nothing more than the typical Beck hater. All you can do is make uneducated criticisms, with ZERO to back your statements.

2) Shows that while you may be a football fan, you really know nothing about the game itself. You overlook the fact that Beck is still the most accurate passer on the team, in order to spout your retoric. You overlook the fact that some of the greatest QB's in the game had similar outings as rookies. The fact that you base such rediculous statements on one game, or even one season given the talent he had around him shows your ignorance. I would venture to guess that you are a pretender. You have probably never played organized football in your entire life. Of course, you will claim to have done so, but how will you prove it? You can't. The proof that you haven't however, is in the pudding, or in this case, your own statements. You simply do not know what you are talking about.

Grab a couple more Twinkies MrEd and sit back and relax. Beck will continue to gain confidence, just as you will continue in your ignorance. How will you react when he has a good season? I will tell you. You will be like others that will continue to whine and complain, simply because that is what people like you do best. You offer nothing of substance to this arguement.

Im sorry, I've watching this video, and I've read the comments upto this point but Beck didn't impress at all. Typical of a rookie. Meaning I think he loooked awful. No -one to throw to? He totally whiffed a few passes. Line not holding up? well he all day to throw against the Eagles.

No it's wasn't his worst performance (Buffalo) by far, but if you were going to sell me any player based on a performance like that I would be very disappointed. Ok I get it.. This is BecK homerism at it's finest.

In the end. What everyone has to understand... is that none is pulling away in this QB battle. That means Beck isn't outplaying Henne or McCown. and vice versa. Practice is practice.. but we'll see what comes about Saturday. Im hoping he starts because that will be a true indication of what him during the season will be. He needs 1st team reps. Before we get all ga ga over a player.. lets have him actually accomplish something, or has the culture of losing on this team made us to accomodating to mediocrity?

Thanks McGaniel. I think we need more positive feedback and posts alike. That's the problem with everyone, always negative. here is what I think.

McCown- you know what you get in him, been in the league for a few years and is a journeymen. What you see is what u get.

Beck- Unproven, growing and is gaining confidence.

Henne- rookie and if deserves the starting job, should get it whether everyone thinks he needs to take a year and develope, why not develope while playing. Some may say may loose confidence if doesn't play well. If thats the case, then he won't last in the league anyways. You need to keep your head up in any sport when your not doing well that what makes or breaks althletes.

all in all may the best man win. But I am rooting for Beck. I hope that if Beck doesnt start any games this year that we dont get rid of him. I would hate for us to pull the trigger too fast and he becomes a good qb for someone else.. that would be a nightmare.
