During the 2006 and 2007 NFL combine, QB arm strength was touted and reported on NFL.com and by the combine analysts. We all heard how Cutler had a monster arm and he showed it as his arm was "clocked" via the radar gun. IIRC, last year, our own John Beck threw the ball about 61 mph.

I have searched the combine websites and have yet to discover how all the "strong armed" QBs in this years draft class performed. We hear a QB has a strong arm QB but I would like to see how their arm strength compares to the last 2 draft classes.

Can anyone provide a link to the arm speed results for the 2008 draft class.

i think cutler did 64 last year. not sure exactly but thats scary fast. btw whats IIRC again? i keep forgetting.

to lazy to find video since it is late, but I know the video for this was on youtube not to long ago because I saw it personally on there.

"Earlier this week, perhaps the most relaxed in his BYU football career, Beck knelt down at the 47-yard line of the indoor practice facility, and with a flick of his wrist, threw the football through the uprights and into the wall. Standing up, he can throw a football consistently more than 75 yards."

For the past 2 years i have relied on this website for much of the info I know about players and for the most part it all seems to be right. I like everyone was Very upset about Quinn last year and didnt even know who John Beck was. It wasnt until i read some posts here that i began to be hopeful towards his prospects. He solidified that feeling in the pre season when he looked better than the other guys. Then the losing began and after about week 8 or 9 i began to want to see him play and then of course cammy sat him until too late. The little bit i did see looked good though. Extremely accurate with the ball, patient, didnt have happy feet, agile to gain some yards if necessary. Arm stregth I believe he has but i dont think he really got to show it off but in what i have read and seen on youtube it looks like he has it. I really am not gonna get my hopes up for this year at all if we go in with McCown. If Beck plays I will still be very skeptical about the wins but will be excited to see how it turns out for him. I think as die hard dolfans we need soemthing to keep our interest. Oh yeah and too the draft Ryan with the #1 pick people. Forget it, we need way too much in terms of O line and Defense to waste the money and pick on a overhyped QB. Too many needs.

Thats great if your entering the pass, punt and kick competition. Just hit the open reciever and i'll be happy.

Both Jim Drunkenmiller and A.J. Feeley had fraggin' cannons for right arms.

Not really a ringing endorsement.

That's why he is compared to Brett Favre; based on arm strength atleast, doubt he has the career Favre will have. Favre clocked those type of numbers with ease.

Only player I see as a Favre clone is Tony Romo, though he lacks a bit of clutch in his game.
