So many times I hear that Beck will be gone because he wasn't a Parcells pick and Henne is definitely the future because Parcells hand picked him. Well Ronnie Brown, Ted Ginn, Samson Sataele, Jason Allen, Vernon Carey, Rodrique Wright, Channing Crowder, Etc.... weren't hand picked by Parcells either so I guess they're all goners too. Someone should let them know this though so they can prepare to move ASAP. Anyway my point is that it doesn't freakin matter who picked which players, they are going to play whoever performs the best. If you think Beck or one of those other players will be gone because they suck then ok I can respect your opinion but to say they will be shipped out simply because they were not picked by the current VP/GM is rediculous.

I certainly see your point. However, the fact that Parcells has brought in two quarterbacks of his own choosing, McCown and Henne, seems to send the message that at the very least he isn't convinced that Beck is going to be the guy.

Not to say that Beck is a goner, but this regime has thus far shown a preference for preferring players with whom it is familiar.

Does anyone else find this statement, how can I put this lightly...... RETARDED??? I agree with you. And dont forget Jeff Ireland was high on Beck coming out of the draft anyways.

IMO the fact Beck was'nt picked by Parcells makes it easier for Parcells to leave Beck on the bench.

No matter what the fans think we don't control things, we can only speculate. We'll just have to let things play out. Someone is gonna be right and someone is gonna be wrong, but we won't know that anytime soon. I think when you read something like the title of this thread, it's nothing more then the non Beck fans looking for leverage to to back their opinion. Nevertheless, it's all speculation. If Beck is going to be the starter it's in his hands and he alone controls his fate. If he wants it bad enough he'll be the starter, we'll see.

Didn't he pretty much have to bring in two QB's??? At one point wasn't Beck the only QB on the roster? I would think that he would bring in two QB's of his choosing as I just couldn't see him asking the previous regime who to bring in, lol.

Or the message sent is that Parcells wants to make the QB competition as competitive as possible to give his team the best chance to succeed at that position. IMO it's more about the competition then anything else and it's without a doubt the best move. Beck isn't proven, the worst thing you can do is to make him think he's safe and he can relax. Beck needs to be under pressure till he's proven he can succeed under that pressure, otherwise you're just setting him up to fail.

I agree with everything you just said but the statement at hand is just such a horrible one IMO. Like Parcells and Co. are going to completely disreguard a talented player just because they didn't pick him. If that was the case then Parcells is the one that needs to GO!!!

Not for nothing but last I checked Sporano had the job of coaching the team, Bill is there to buidl it. Miami has a very talented QB coach that has the sole job of producing a QB to lead the team. The fact that Bill and co. did not draft a QB in the first says simply we think he is good but can he be great. We want great not good so make him compete had if Beck can not cut it, they bye bye. I think Henne and McCown have the same fate, produce or bye bye. I would love to see Miami in the situation that the Chargers were in a couple years ago with Brees and Rivers.

The important thing to remember with that statement is, BP didn't say it. At least I've not seen, heard or read anything from BP himself about Beck. The fans who don't like Beck said it. I hardly think that's worthy of a thread. Consider the source, some people just love drama. And you'll always find someone who isn't happy about something, t's inevitable.

Beck wasn't drafted by Parcells, so it's not retarded to assume that he will eventually be replaced with another QB that is more of Parcells' liking. I think Beck's best chance in regards to remaining with Miami beyond 2008, is to win the starting job. If he can't do that, there's really no need to keep him around in 2009 with Henne being drafted....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

That's exactly my thoughts

I'm pretty sure that Sparano and Parcells wanted a QB competition, which is why they brought in two QB's. Just because Beck wasn't hand picked by Parcells doesn't mean that he's not going to be the guy. It's a QB COMPETITION, and I would much rather have Beck competing against McCown and Henne rather than Green and Lemon.

Oh but it is...... If you just assume Beck will be replaced simply because he wasn't picked by Parcells then you'd have to "assume" that EVERY player currently on the roster that wasn't picked by Parcells will be replaced. So I guess it's good bye to Ronnie Brown because Jalen was picked by Parcells and Brown wasn't.

They are going to play the best QB, PERIOD!. It doesnt matter if they were chosen by BP or not. Just because Henne was chosen by the new front office doesnt mean they are going to just hand him the job and if he sucks then he will be looking for a new job.
Whether or not Beck stays on the Fins is completely up to him and has nothing to do with who drafted or signed him.
