How many quarterbacks play for the same team for 15 years in this day and age?

Bottom line if Beck don't win games in year 3 or 4 he will be replaced. Ditto for Coach Cameron. If he wins games his stay will be longer.

If Beck works out he could be on the roster for 10 years.

Really? You think? I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info though.

I believe he is 26 years old and pretty sure he will not start this season .So that puts him at 27 when he starts and has about 5 to 6 years of playing time. That's of course if c-pep does not get healthy and starts to light up the score boards.

How many QBs retire at 32 or 33? Not many (good ones). Keep in mind most that do retire at that age because they are physically worn out because of the beating that they have taken over the a 10 or 12 year period. Even if Beck is 32 or 33 and he is a solid QB, he has less wear on his body (by 4 or 5 years) at that point than most early-mid 30s QBs.

Well said! :goodpost:

The only real knock on his advance age:

1. He can file for his AARP card..

2. Doubtful he'll get any bigger or stronger. Physically he is what he is.

Another BAD draft Pick - John Beck will turn out to be another Jay Fielder - He already has the Look and the Uniform # !

There is an interesting group of Phins born the same year as Beck. They include Ronnie Brown, Vernon Carey and Anthony Alabi. I think it's interesting because Brown and Carey are expected to be the top players on this offense, and may show that Alabi is pretty much at the make or break point of his career. The timetable for quarterbacks is different than that of other players, but still it's an interesting comparison to the players of the same age as Beck.

Beck in the second is in no way, shape or form a bad pick. Please explain the bolded part of your quote.
