"Beck's ball speed of 61.1 mph was second best among quarterbacks and better than Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith's 58.5 mph, Michigan State's Drew Stanton's 55.7 or Stanford's Trent Edwards' 55.2. (Neither Russell nor Quinn threw at the combine.)"

Jay Cutler's ball speed at the '06 combine was 60 mph. Pretty impressive considering his accuracy was thought to be his biggest strength before the combine.

great news!! I feel good with the beck pick, All the ginn haters who wanted quinn just wait and see I bet you all beck will be better than brady quinn

Not to mention he is EXTREMELY accurate. I'm really excited about this guy.

There's a reason people were thinking about taking him in the 1st round.

The more information I gather on Beck, the more encouraged I am. I remember Bill Walsh speaking once on how he prized accuracy above all in his quarterbacks.

I can't try to pretend that I was a Ginn guy before the draft, but the combination of Ginn's speed and elusiveness and Beck's football smarts and accuracy may be very special. I am on board.

He also had the 10th best Wonderlic score in the 2007 NFL Draft (34). Jared Zabransky was the only QB in this draft with a higher Wonderlic score.

Best 10 scores
1. Justin Blalock, G, Texas (41)
2. Anthony Pudewell, TE, Nevada (39)
3. Kody Bliss, PK, Auburn (38
T-4. Jon Cornish, RB, Kansas (37)
T-4. Brandon Harrison, S, Stanford (37)
T-6. Scott Chandler, TE, Iowa (36)
T-6. Daniel Sepulveda, PT, Baylor (36)
T-6. Jared Zabransky, QB, Boise State (36)
9. Jordan Kent, WR, Oregon (35)
10. John Beck, QB, BYU (34)

Great info...we need stuff like this. I along with many others are reading everthing we can on him.

Is there any place that a guy could find information on all the drills at the combine?

I really believe this is the QB we've been waiting for. Love the velocity readings but more than anything, his accuracy is just unreal. Completion % is one of the biggest markers I use to grade a QB and Beck's Completion % was low 70% range, and this from a QB in a college offense that passed A LOT.

Does Beck have a bad knee? That last scene he is limping and I noticed him wearing a knee brace on his left knee. Is there an injury history here?

No he played with two slightly sprained ankles the whole game! He sat out the next game cause we played a cream puff.

Beck had a 69.3 Comp. Percentage with 3,885 yards, 32 TDS and

only 8 INTS his senior year and never had below a 56% Comp. Rate.

Heck, He averaged 63.3%

Quinn had major statistical problems in all ares until Weis arrived.
