Does he deserve to get the ax? I know some posters here wanted him fired earlier on?Is it the same now? I think our coverage units has been better, but the kickoffs need to do better. Maybe we still need better teaching? Players?

no way. theres not much you can do when your kick returner is scared to make contact. are coverage has been pretty dam good. no need to cut him just cut ginn

Earlier in the season we had the worst ST in the NFL all-around. Bonamego must of gotten the message, our coverage teams are excellent. But our returners just flat out suck. We need a true kick/punt returner and Cobbs back there.

I'm surprised that he didn't get fired last season, but our ST's haven't been that bad this year. He's the last of the 3 coordinators that I'd fire. PP and Henning must go ASAP.

Ginn needs holes to run; shoot, anyone needs holes to gain yardage. Look at Cobbs starting the season not averaging the 20 yard line. Was Cobbs scared of contact? No, the blocking was terrible...Still is...

well cobbs by no means is an elite kick returner

Where did this **** come from? Look at how bad our special teams was in 08 and compare it to this season and you'll see that he deserves to stay.

They definetly need to replace Bess on punt returns. The guy has zero chance of ever breaking one for a TD.And I am not talking about replacing him with the "SHE2" Ted Ginn.

Special Teams has really turned it around from where they were earlier in the season (and last year). But i wouldn't be devastated to see Bonamego go.

One concern I have with us on Kick coverage is that Carpenter does not have the strongest leg for kickoffs. We are towards the bottom of the league for touchbacks this year and only slightly worse then last year. His kicks often land around 10 yardline (from what I have seen).

Are you crazy? He has done an awesoem job with our special teams.. I mean the return blocking could/might be a little better, but IMO half of that is on the "returner".. The coverage and tackling has been extremely good

After last year I would have said yes. But this year they have for the most part performed much better despite a big turnover this year in personnel. Having said that, who makes the call on who returns? If it's him, then he needs to go. If not, someone needs a severe scolding at the least.
