John Clayton just said on eson radio that its down to Giants and Dolphins for Arrington. He said he thinks the Giants are in the lead because they've been the only ones willing to offer him a 10 mill bonus. 10 Million dollar bonus is to much and they can take him. Obviously he wants to come to Miami beacuse he would have already signed with the Giants. We all know that Saban's not going to break the bank like Tom Coughlin's about to do. Still hope we get him but at the right price.

I think he will be a Giant. Arrington seems like a "money" guy and there is no way in hell we will offer more then the Giants. Arrington will show his true colors by who he will sign with.

well i guess we arent completly out of the running for lavar...yet again we thought we were still in the running for dbrees and we find out that we backed out fairly quickly once we saw somthing we didnt like.

I hope he signs with us, but today he visited with the Giants again, and on ESPNEWS they said he wanted to play in the NFC EAST. So, unless Saban does something, I am afraid we may lose him!

well that's interesting but according to kffl the Giants haven't made any headway.

Giants | No progress in talks with Arrington

Bob Glauber, of Newsday, reports talks between the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/26/nfl">New York Giants and free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) remain at a standstill. The Giants have not made any headway in talks with Arrington, who is said to prefer playing on the East coast.

I love how people bash someone for taking more money, like you wouldnt do the same exact thing in the players situation. Why take less money to go to a team you have no loyalty/history towards? I can see it to stay in a place where you've played there for awhile, but otherwise it is just pissed off fans mad that they couldnt get a good player.

Giants | Team will visit with C. Brown
Wed, 5 Apr 2006 18:45:06 -0700
Bob Glauber, of Newsday, reports while talks with free agent LB <A href="http://www.kffl.com/player/1917/nfl">LaVar Arrington (Redskins) remain at a standstill, the New York Giants plan to bring in another outside linebacker to add depth at the position. Free agent LB Chad Brown (Patriots) is expected to visit with the Giants shortly. "We're going to talk (Thursday) and set up a visit," Brown's agent, Peter Schaefer, said Wednesday, April 5. "Chad is very excited about meeting with the staff. There are no absolutes or definites, but we'll see what happens."

Hmm.. Given up have they?

Good, let them have Chad Brown!

eww, by reading this thread I saw an avatar of one of the most overhyped and abysmal albums ever.

If we sign Lavar, I think this will go from an A offseason to an A++ offseason.

WHERE TO GO IN THE DRAFT?

The fact that we are still even in the runing means that he is not purly about the money unless he is just trying to use us as leverage.... Hard to see that though since its pretty clear that we cant outbid the Giants.

In what regard is a 10 million dollar bonus too much spread out correctly over a 7 year period with a substantially increased cap over the next 10 years? I swear, some people say things for the shock value.
