John Clayton on Levi Brown

If he improves on his 40 during his pro day then he'll still be considered top ten material and a possibility for the Dolphins at #9. He did put on some weight and did not look solid, so that's also another worry concerning him at left tackle. Will he eat his way out of the position and how dedicated his he, knowing that millions of dollars was on the line and he couldn't stay in shape for a few weeks. What will happen once he get's the money?

Does any1 know his wingspan because Joe Thomas 33 isnt very good for a guy his size.

I remember them saying and talking about his long arms. That is very good for the position.

It's probably time to pass on Brown @ 9. if we trade then more likely. The main issue with offensive tackles coming out of college is their speed. Because they protect the Quarterback's blind side, Left tackles that run slow are generally considered to be right tackle types in the NFL. There was some mention that Levi looked good in agility drills so maybe his slow time was an aberration, but the indoor track they run on is considered "fast". I really wanted this guy but I'm not sure anymore. :ninja:

2 most important factors for a LT are Arm length and quick feet...IMO

This is true, arm length (which he has) and quick feet (which he supposedly has) are more important...but the slow time does make one wonder a lil bit!

I think i heard them say his wingspan was 36 1/2 inches...i believe that's right.

Wow that very good...Jes i saw him play and they really didnt look that long but ill take the butchers word.

Wasnt that D'Bricks wing too?

I honestly dont remember about Dbricks numbers, i tend to forget after a lil while, unless they are someone i projected us getting, or someone we get. But i do remember him having a good wingspan too.

His 40 is close to insignificant IMO. If he had a comparable 10 yard split to the other LTs, than he should have not hurt himself.

I herd something about him having a 7 foot wing span

Who cares about 40 times for OL'man. 40's in football are almost obsolete. It's not as functional for all positions like a 30 in baseball (home to first, or stealing). For OL'man its the 10 and 20 for me. 40 just for a raw data #. 3-cone and shuttles too, show your endurance, burst, agility, change-of-direction.
