Not only do I want Harbaugh in Miami coaching the Dolphins, if Ross does not do everything possible to get him (Including firing McDaniel already), he will deserve the firestorm that will come upon him.

It’s actually weird that you assume all these things. Every one of the people you just mentioned are so more insanely successful human beings than 99.9% of the population of earth. Why would you think they are bumbling fools?

Who said they aren’t great at what they’ve individually accomplished in life? But collectively, they have zero track record to indicate they know anything about managing an NFL franchise. Meaning winning a playoff game, the ultimate low-bar.

Ok but why would you run if you were Harbaugh? Harbaugh would be in charge of the entire organization. He would have 100% control over everything. Ross, sillman and shore would just be paying Harbaugh and doing what he says

Ross has never done the Czar thing, it’s always been a collection of buddies, insiders, and “make a wish foundation” flunkies. Even if Harbaugh accepted the job, he’d be looking over both shoulders because Ross has his gang of Rasputin’s whispering in his big ears at all times.

If you told me we could get rid of Grier, McDaniel and Tua in one year AND land Harbaugh + the GM he wants a week ago I would have laughed. Tyler Loop was one of the best kickers in the NFL and a single missed 44 yard kick put us here.
I think he had $5K on Pittsburgh & wasn't taking that hit

Reasons Why would he come to
Miami

List them

I'll give it a go...

1. It might be his only offer. 2. Not far from having a good running game and his boy Weaver might not be too many pieces from a decent defense. 3. The prima donna QB thing is presently not an issue unlike his last stop. 4. A couple years of nasty cap constraints isn't the worst thing if he gets a say in how the rebuild goes down. 5. Maybe he doesn't like the cold.

I voted no. I dont think he would move the needle here. He consistently underachieved with the Ravens when he had loaded rosters. We dont have anywhere near that kind of talent.
That's really the issue for me, but I'll allow that Lamar warped the hell out of any plan Harbaugh had to win another SB the way he did with a great defense and Trent Dilfer.

I voted YES. I mean, when was the last time Miami had a real HC? I'm so done with these coordinators getting their shot at HC, in hopes we find the next big thing.

Seems like a no brainer. The bigger question is obvious. Is there a reason he would pick Miami? Might be if the Dolphins get a GM of his liking.

Would he want to “shop for his own groceries” as Bill Parcells once famously said?

If so, would allowing Harbaugh to pull double duty like Bill Belichick did in NE be a worthwhile risk in order to get him to choose Miami?

We do have a GM opening, just sayin….

Dont we already have a coach though
it would seem that one other org with a coach besides us is sniffing around him

I’m already on record saying that if the players have to deal with organizations openly searching for their replacements while under contract that I’m not going to shed a tear for the coaches having to endure the same type of treatment.

However, having restated that, the Dolphins currently have a GM vacancy and could be talking to Harbaugh about his potential interest for that role and then installing himself as the HC, too.

If he’s at all interested in the dual role, like Bill Belichick had during his tenure in NE, then it is kinda working around the idea of searching for a HC replacement while still having one under contract because they’d really be talking to him about the GM role first and foremost and whether he’d prefer to keep McDaniel or install himself as HC. <wink wink>

I voted uncertain. Didn't watch enough Ravens this year. I know I personally have thought Lamar was good but not great. I also know Derrick Henry is a beast. I wonder why we think he'd do better here.

I personally think, if I were Harbaugh, I'd avoid the uncertainty of Miami and go to a team with promise of immediate success. I mean, imagine its you! If it were me, first I'd go eat some sushi off of a woman's body in the name of art (this is a thing). Then I'd buy a sweet racecar. Then Id go get a coaching job for the Giants, or some other team with a prayer. Then again, if Ross gave me 100 million dollars I'd come to Miami with knee pads

If I was Ross or Beal I would not let anyone shop for any groceries without a plan and an approved bid.

I doubt this team has ever had someone come in for an executive job interview and present a comprehensive plan for the organization and for Super Bowl team building and get a job on that bid basis. The hiring process is mickey mouse operation, as if they were hiring $50k per year annual staff, and then putting them in charge of the organization building that is a hundreds of millions of dollars operation.
My notice to applicants would be, come in and present! Bid! It would be a bid request at large, not a job offer.

I went uncertain for 1 reason....Brian Flores. I think if the team didnt gel under Flores, then Harbaugh to me is 10 times worse as a disciplinarian. It could go 2 ways - team will quit - or the team will embrace.

I know that if Harbaugh is signed, the floodgates may open for better quality players coming to Miami.

At the end of the day, I think there is about a 10% chance of him coming here.
