I dont agree with Armanduuuuh on this one. He's making it out to be a bigger issue then it is. He got bored with his writing.

Its just a player communicating back to another player about a blown assignment. I see it all the time between the players.

Give him an earful. Chances are this wasn't the first time Jones (or others) has dealt with Maxwell blowing coverages and assignments.

They are in 2 deep on that play and for whatever reason Jones the left safety is looking way right and lets the receiver get behind him. This is just as much on Jones as you should not let any receiver get behind you.

Smith's TD is all Maxwell.

It was Cover 1 Vice which is man to man with over/under bracket coverage on the TE by the LB and SS.

It wasn't C2. Jones dropped back only to play over the top of Ertz, not to cover the deep 1/2.

Jones is the leader in that secondary and I don't think they were in cover 2. I think it was man cover one with Jones as a rover. The looks of it Jones was anticipating Maxwell over the top and Jones would jump the route underneath. I don't have a problem with Jones getting on Maxwell if he blew the call, especially if their position coach is okay with it. Jones is a leader and has proven time and time again he makes the right call. I'm guessing Jones made a late change to the coverage before the snap and Maxwell missed the signal. Better is happens now that way they can get it figured out before the season starts (hopefully).

I'm just not expecting much better from those two for various reasons. I guess will see if Maxwell starts playing better like he did last yr or ...

We have to ride with maxwell verner plays too small and tanks not ready

Judging by the opposite Safety and CB, it looks like 4-deep, and Maxwell thought he was passing Smith off to Jones so that Maxwell could help on the deep out. Bad read by Maxwell, but this where playing together will help. Maxwell and Jones only played together for a few games last year. This is something to keep an eye on, but it should improve, and it's not an ability issue.

That is what one of the leaders of the defense is supposed to do. I remember seeing Dan Marino climbing in the you know what of offensive linemen that did not block or a receiver for running the wrong route.
