“It feels really good to be back and to get back into the swing of things and be around my teammates and just get back to my normal routine, what I’m used to,” Jordan said. “It’s tough when you’ve got to take time off from your job that you enjoy. It’s rough. It was something I had to do. I took care of my business. I feel blessed and happy to be back and have the opportunity to contribute and be around my guys again.”
Jordan’s return gives the Dolphins their full complement of players (not counting injuries) for the first time this season.

His addition also provides one more gifted athlete to a defense that is ranked fourth in the NFL through Week 7.

“Obviously it’s great to have him back,” defensive end Cameron Wake said. “It seems like each week or couple of weeks we’re grabbing another big piece of our defense. A couple of weeks ago it was Koa (Misi). Now Dion is back. Reshad (Jones) the same thing. Depth across the board on defense is always going to be a good thing, especially when it’s a guy who’s in my room.

“He’s a guy who can help out, whether it’s getting to the quarterback — he’s a very dynamic player — back in coverage. I know he plays on special teams. He does a lot of things for the team. Having him back in the lineup is going to be great.”

For his part, Jordan repeated Tuesday he just wanted to contribute to the team and was looking forward.

“I’m not looking back on what happened,” Jordan said. “There’s no point in me doing that. I’m moving on and that’s all I can do. I have the ability to contribute to this organization and that’s what my focus is moving forward.

“This is a great locker room and when I got back there was nothing but support from everybody within this locker room. Even the people upstairs, coaches and everybody, they all took me in and it just got me back to where I was when I left off.”
Jordan said he spent the time away from the Dolphins doing what he normally would do in an offseason, which means a lot of conditioning and a lot of weightlifting.

Now that he’s back, Jordan says he’s ready to help and finding a role on a thriving defense is not a concern.

“It won’t be tough at all,” he said. “I understand when I was here they had a role for me, they found a role for me and I feel the same way now. My abilities haven’t changed, so I’m going to go out here and continue to do the best and actually I’m going to help these guys out, make it a lot easier for these guys, so Cam and OV (Olivier Vernon) don’t have to take as many reps as they’ve been taking in the last few weeks.”

Fresh legs from a top notch athlete is always welcome. I'm curious to see what packages Coyle has up his sleeve with him. Wake, OV, Raw Dog, McCain, and Jordan on 3 and long? Throw in Jenkins at the other LB. Whaaaat?

If this kid can live up to the potential he was drafted for we are in good shape on "D"

Was there any kind of apology to his teammates, the organization, or the fans?

It's good to have the extra body on special teams and defense. I'm just not getting my hopes up for Jordan and I will be amazed if he finishes the season clean. Also from the article it says there's a chance he may not be active Sunday, so there's that.

Even though Jordan practiced, he still doesn’t count against the 53-player roster limit. The Dolphins have until next Monday to activate him, but the question is whether Head Coach Joe Philbin will decide to use him against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

In an awkward moment for a player who was expected to be a cornerstone of the franchise, Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan was asked Tuesday if he can assure fans that he is drug-free.
That sums up the fall from grace of Jordan, who was drafted No. 3 overall last year but failed to become a regular contributor and then was suspended for the first six games this season because he failed two drug tests.

Jordan — speaking to reporters during his first day back at practice — chuckled.

“I think they should be confident I’m drug-free,” Jordan said. “Yes, I’m very confident.”

Expectations have clearly diminished. For now, Jordan is out to prove he can be an effective reserve and that personal issues won’t deter him.

“It was unfortunate,” he said. “I had to take the time, but it was the most time I’ve had to myself in a really long time. I used it wisely as far as making sure I bettered myself.”

In a statement after the second suspension, Jordan said he was undergoing drug treatment. On Tuesday, he wouldn’t reveal specifics about his rehab but said he’s in a much better place with “a clear mind.”

Does he take over for Raw Dog as #2 DE in rotation?

Good luck DJ. Hope you worked hard to stay in shape in order to keep up because this D will leave you in its dust if you didn't. Stay off the stuff.

I busted out laughing when I read Ruckus45's reference to Raw Dog! I had to explain to my wife how he got the nickname. Let's just say the wife did't think it was as funny as I did. Lol
