After speaking with scouts and executives here’s his final mock…I wouldn’t hate this. Thoughts? Also put this in the scout thread but wanted the boards thoughts..not ideal I’d definitely make some tweaks.

13. Miami Dolphins

Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Even prior to the Dolphins actively exploring trade options for cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the team had a major hole at the position. Barron is capable of playing on the perimeter or inside. He logged 300-plus career snaps at all four cornerback spots (right, left, slot and wide), which shows alignment versatility unmatched by any other corner in this class. The Dolphins' 16 takeaways ranked 27th in the NFL last season, and Barron is a standout turnover generator with a career-high five interceptions in 2024.

48. Miami Dolphins

Jonah Savaiinaea, G, Arizona

Offensive line is a top need after Terron Armstead's retirement. Savaiinaea is a wide-bodied blocker with experience at guard and right tackle, though he projects best at guard in the NFL. Savaiinaea didn't allow a sack in the final 669 pass-blocking snaps of his college career.

98. Miami Dolphins*

Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky

The Dolphins need defensive linemen, and Walker falling to them here would be ideal. He has appealing size (6-foot-7, 331 pounds) and potential.

116. Miami Dolphins: Lathan Ransom, S, Ohio State
135. Miami Dolphins*: Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas
150. Miami Dolphins: Dylan Fairchild, G, Georgia
155. Miami Dolphins (via DEN): Jay Toia, DT, UCLA
224. Miami Dolphins (via CHI): Jabbar Muhammad, CB, Oregon
231. Miami Dolphins: Johnny Walker Jr., Edge, Missouri
253. Miami Dolphins*: Branson Taylor, OT, Pitt

I could live with the first two picks, but I really hate the Deone Walker and Quinn Ewers picks. I don't even think Ewers is draftable in my opinion.

I wouldn't like it.

My views have been repeated. A CB is not the way to start fixing what's broken IMO.

If the team is stuck on the secondary, I hope a trade-down scenario is how it happens.
An opportunity to double-down in the trenches with an extra 2nd or 3rd wouldn't suck as bad.

It would be players who would help the team. Ewers would be the only real surprise. I think there are better prospects out there but to say its an auto F is not practical to me. Even if you don't like drafting a nickle corner in round 1 (I get the disapproval), he is still a better player than what we have. Just not ideal value.

I'd be jumping up and down if this is how it turns out for us with the first 3 picks. What I'd change is I'd draft a TE and a RB on day 3

The mocked players look like guys who can make an immediate impact ... but for the most part, they are band-aids.
(QB,RB,TE,WR,CB,S,K,P)

The marquis name gets the vote, and your team becomes one-dimensional with 3 studs on your team ... one on D, one on O, and a special teams guy busting with potential. 🤣

Your team struggles ... 8-10 wins later, you're on the edge of your seat, hoping for a playoff birth.
(Yeah, but did you see that game where Barron snagged that pick 6?) (Hell yeah, I saw it ... I was there! He had 5 picks this year!)

Build the OL. Protect your QB. Run the ball.

Build the DL. Harass, pressure, and annoy the QB. Stop the run.

There. Now you can get started with that other stuff. K.I.S.S.

I think this is how the draft will end up looking. The players may change slightly, but I think we're going CB round 1, DT/G round 2 and 3.
