Jordan Tripp

Tripp plays middle linebacker, Wheeler does not. I strongly suspect Tripp will get on the field this season, though.

Personally, I'd prefer to see Ellerbe gone, but whatever.

That kind of thinking is why this team has only made the playoffs once in the last decade. You should always find ways to get your playmakers on the field. Misi wasn't a middle linebacker last year, but guess where he's playing now? Point is, preseason should be a time for experimenting with ways to make the team better

Tripp plays all LB spots. He was OLB in college if I'm not mistaken

Im with u on that. We outbid ourselves on this backup. Did you read the article on how he Is gld to be back at the position he is most comfortable with, what a BS article. Wasn't aware we were running a 3-4 with him as a mike linebacker since that's where he had his greatest success.

I just read some draft reports most say Tripp projects to OLB in a 4-3 and ILB in the 3-4. But it seems we are going against that and trying him in the middle

Trusnik is an improvement over ellerbeaten and Spunlikeawheeler.
Ireland strikes again. Those two and Dion Jordan will almost get you a cup of coffee and a plain bagel.

Maybe we can trade Ellerbee and Jordan to the 49'ers for Chris Borland and Carlos Hyde?
Harbaugh's brother is familiar with Ellerbee.

Just dreaming.

Nick is correct, again. He plays all 3 LB positions and is totally comfortable at any of them. I still doubt that they fast track him as a starter but good to know that if there is ever an injury or someone is playing badly, he can come in.

After watching the game, the play recognition was very slow or completely wrong. The gaps and angles were wrong to many times. These guys were grabbing air or blocking themselves out of the play. No instincts.

I think we should end the misi experiment and plug tripp in the middle I thought he did well

If this Staff has a clue? Not sure yet. Tripp gets on the field. Maybe even McCain too.

Amen Dude. The Fins for 10+ Years are awful at getting and using their playmakers to their potential. Countless examples, but I would be happy to elaborate. But we all know..

I'm excited to see what Tripp can do HOWEVER lets not get ahead of ourselves after 1 preseason game vs some 2nd teamers & 3rd teamers. I agree that our LB corp is a concern but I like Misi in the middle who was dealing with the flu yesterday, & atleast both Ellerbe & Wheeler have had success in the NFL. Again not saying I support our LB corp but let's not annoint Tripp & McCain as all pro players yet after 1 preseason game. I do HOPE Tripp & Jenkins develop into starting caliber players.
