Kurt Warner signed a 3 year deal today in Arizona all but sending McCown else where. Do you guys think he could be headed here? I wouldnt mind takin a chance on him. He did better then Gus with a much worse O-LIne and much worse run game.

All Im saying, is McCown is all but gone in Arizona and want to know if you guys would like him here

McCown is starter material, he won't want to be stuck behind Warner. He's relatively young, talented, and played well behind a bad o-line with absolutely zero run game.

Still, Boldin and Fitzgerald had 1,000 yard seasons - THEY'RE GOOD, but he's getting them the ball.

Well, most likely the original poster is saying he's done because he is a FA in March and will most likley garner some interest from teams looking for a starting QB.

I think he could be interesting at the right price perhaps.

McCown has potential, but doesn't read defenses well and tends to make bad decisions.

Does anyone think McCown is a guaranteed upgrade from Gus? I don't think so. In that case I don't think Saban would be interested in him. If Saban brings in a veteran it will be to replace Gus not to compete with him. I think Kitna would be a better option. What do you think?

I don't think this has been posted yet, but it sure looks like McCown will be playing elsewhere in 2006:

I think he should merit strong consideration from us. If Saban signs him, I'm all for it...

An excerpt from Don Banks' column:

I know the Cardinals finished first in the league in passing offense, but it doesn't necessarily follow that 34-year-old quarterback Kurt Warner -- he of the new three-year contract extension -- had a great year. Warner threw 11 touchdown passes and nine interceptions in 10 games, with Arizona going just 2-8 in games he started. A lot of his numbers came in losing efforts. Warner's 85.8 quarterback rating was solid, but it only ranked 14th overall among starters.

By comparison, the Cardinals' still-young backup quarterback Josh McCown, who will sign elsewhere during free agency after curiously being given up on by head coach Dennis Green, had nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions but went 3-3 in his six starts in relief of the injured Warner. In his two seasons under Green, McCown went 9-10 as a starter. All other Cardinals starters are 2-11 in that same span. Go figure.

Somebody's going to get themselves a pretty good starting-quarterback option in McCown.
But it won't be the Cardinals, who have been searching for a consistent winner at the game's most pivotal position seemingly since Jim Hart retired.

i thinkwe sign him but stick with gus this year and give mccown a yr to learn the offense draft olsen give him a yr to learn the offense and they battle next yr in camp for the starting job he wnt be expensive so y not take the chance

McCowns been my choice all along.:dolphins:

I agree with you. McCown, Gus, and another young QB via draft is what I would like to see happen. McCown and Gus are reliable starters, and the rookie can get a year to adjust. I feel that McCown has more upside then Farve and McNair, who are on the downside of their career. McCown can only get better, and he has the intangables.

there should be no wanny battle the qb's out bull stuff. bring in a guy or draft the guy and he is YOUR MAN like saban did with Gus. I'm sure if he benched him as wanny would do then bring him back couple games later the chem of the team would never exist and it would lose the confidence of the team and the QB itself. STOP THE BATTLE IT OUT stuff.
