Josh McCown is a 26 year old QB, with potential who's played behind an inconsistent line, yes he's had two very good WRs, no TE, and NO RUNNING GAME ABOVE ALL. He's simply another case of a better Jake Plummer. Plummer had a 65 rating coming out of Arizona and I think McCown can improve even more than Plummer can with the running game he'd have here. He'd cost the Fins nothing but a free agent contract and no picks. At worst Gus Frerrote takes over again as the starter. Also instead of having to trade up or move around in the draft to get Jay Cutler the Fins can get a very similar player already in the NFL and draft another QB maybe in the 3-4th round like a Josh Betts.

McCown's biggest test will be this week in Indy. If he has a good game he's truly worth going after as a reasonable solution. Then the Fins will be able to draft a guy like Laron Landry, Micheal Huff, Darnell Bing, Winston Justice...

Not a big fan of McCown.. I dont think he has the intangibles.

Pass

Its funny Ive been thinking McCown the whole time. Hes young, will come fairly cheap and he's played some this year with decent results. I think we sign him and draft a QB at some point. Then low and behold in my madden franchise I signed him..he was all there was out there. I used the money saved to sign Lecharles bentley and Doug Gabriel im interested to see which we we go in reality.

I'll pass. The times I've watched him play, he throws into coverage way too often. He's not patient enough to let his receivers run their routes. He does have a good arm though.

Well he's 26 obviously he's going to be inconsistent out of Arizona. If you expect a ready made QB to be there than your insane...

McCown is the type of guy who may be good with a good team. He has made some mistakes in Airzona bit has shown some ability as well. I wouldn't mind if we brought some guy like him in and drafted a qb.

I'm with Jaj on this one. I wouldn't bring him in with too many expectations and too much invested in him, but I have liked him on occassion. He has the ability to get balls into places, and whilst he lacks consistency, he hasn't played on the greatest of teams.

But like I say, I wouldn't invest too much in him. If we got him, I'd still like to have a veteran and a rookie QB on squad.

They have the NFL's best pass offense.
And if I remember clearly Kurt Warner has been knocked out periodically through out the season so...

NO! *slaps self*
NO SCRUBS! SHEEEEESH!

No sorry

he doesnt look good, maybe he doesnt have a running game but he has two top 10 WR's no excuses

They have the NFL's best pass offense partially because McCown carried the torch for a few games, passing for a lot of yards. Also, they are forced to pass a lot because of no running game. When you analyze things, you would be impressed that he has gotten so many yards without anythng resembling a balanced offense, which means that so many more mistakes are forced,
