It will be interesting to see if Jr. Seau can make some big plays this Sunday.
It's kind of strange to see him as a Patriot. He had a reputation in New England as being one of, or maybe the most over rated player in the league.
How did you fans down in Miami view him?

um, well i loved his on the field intensity. i think he has/had the ability to cause others to play better. i wish he was still here, but the injury bug just bit him too many times.

i always laughed tho when he'd lets say blitz, and he'd miss the tackle completely or get jacked up by a blocker but another team mate would make a play and he'd get up and go nuts as if he just made MNF's jacked up list...haha

I don't think too many people saw him as over-rated. I agreed that when he was on the field, he played well. He just couldn't stay on the field.

Isn't he leading your team in tackles or something?

He can be a solid contributor at times, but he's a spot player at best now. Use to be one of the best, but time and injuries have severely limited his abilities these last couple years. He'll make some great plays, but if he get's used too much, he'll break down with an injury or get burned on pass plays. Nick just couldn't afford a P/T LB, so he cut him loose. He'll be great on a D where they run certain guys in/out on packages or platoon in spots, but not a full-time LB anymore. If you guys use him too much early on, he'll never be around come week 10.

I was not disapointed when he was let go. He was a shell of his old self on the field. Jumped off sides to much and free lanced to much for me, when he was able to play.

I really do think Seau lost a huge step in each of his last two years. He plays smart but you could tell he didnt have that same explosion or strength when rushing the QB last year.

He is slow with age but still smart. I think using him as an interior linebacker is exactly what he needs.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I never viewed him as over rated. The problem with Jr. is that he really didn't play much as a Phin, he was always hurt.

When people used to tell me he was overrated when he came here I always siad that was fine. Folks had a very hard time undstanding that even at 35 (his age when he came to Miami) and after losing a step he was still an upgrade over the incumbent at the time Derrick Rodgers. Would it have been nice to have Seau in his prime, yes but we were looking to upgrade the position and we did. People who considered it a bad signing because he had lost a step just didn't get it. I had a Bills fan fight me to the death on this over on the buffalorange because he didn't think Seau was an upgrade over the now out of the NFL and cut by the Saints after one year Derrick Rodgers.

He was doing good last year before he got hurt and that was his main problem.
