the opinion from people at espn and cbs sportsline is that taylor has had a good but not great season and will fall short of DPOY

its bull**** how they don't notice a player who plays his heart out EVERY PLAY and not some TO or keyshawn that will only put effort on some plays

it is obvious he should get this award and i hope that all sports analysits wake up tomorrow and smell the coffee instead of showing no respect for an athlete with more heart then los angeles

During the game today on CBS... i believe it was Randy Cross who said something along the lines of... No offence to Merriman down there in SanDiego... but with the season Taylor is having its hard to imagine him not winning defensive player of the year... or... something to that extent anyways. But I know they basically came out and said he's deserving of it.

I don't see how Merriman would be deserving of the award having been suspended 4 games, I think the main competition for it will be with Urlacher. However, if Merriman had been able to play the full year, things might be different.

I think you're wrong. JT has the respect of pretty much everyone outside of the occasional person who isn't paying attention

Not sure where your getting this info from, but everything I've read and heard says he's having the best season of his career

yep

I've been saying t for a long time that I thought Jason was actually underrated. He has been a top 3 player at his position for years.

If a player from New England, one of the New York teams or Indy was having the type of season he is having right now there would be no question who the defensve player of the year would be...

thats why it stood out in my mind when they made the comment during the game...

Today just goes to show that he is deserving of DPOY. I think that some people dismiss him just because we aren't having a great year. I think he should def get it.

i got this from cbs sportsline last week when they were discussing dpoy and they said if anyone julius peppers and that jt hasn't done enough to earn it

i dont see how they say taylor plays on the level of peppers or they compare him to marriman, these two pray they can have the career taylor has had, its sad sad sad

He is having a great year, he had a monster year back in 2002 as well. This year might turn out to be better than his year in 02.

I think its gonna come down between him and Merriman for Defensive player of the year.

Jason Taylor is going to win Defensive Player of the Year...he is having a monster year and no other player has come up with the big plays like he has. Bill Bilicheck even gave Jason some praise on Wednesday, saying what a great player he is. I am sure not everyone is going to agree with that, but the majority of people agree that Taylor is deserving of the award.

Even last week, JT had more than twice as many forced fumbles, 3-4 more passes defended, 2 more interceptions (Peppers has 0), and 2 more defensive touchdowns (Peppers has 0).

I think Randy Cross is pulling hard For Jt, everytime he talked about him, he threw in a comment about DPOY. and at the end he said JT had BB vote for DPOY...:D
