I was listening to 790 and they had Adam Schefter on and he reported with great confidence that Miami will NOT look to move JT. :kick:

Personally I think that is great news. Why give away one of the most dominating defensive players for a 2nd or later. Jason's body still have easily 3-4 more years....Look at the Giants and Strahan, it was a good move to keep him, and with his help, the Giants are now champs.

we're definitely hopin. we keep him, put him at OLB opposite porter, and trade down or draft JL #1. that would be the idea.

adding to what tay said... this is great news because we are keeping some semblance of an Identity on D and leader in the lockeroom and sidelines... it would make nosense to shop a fan favorite and still one of the most dominating Defensive Linemen the NFL has ever seen.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think that JT is a candidate to go elsewhere if we draft Long or sign Pace. Not to mention the fact that he said himself that he doesn't want to be a part of a rebuilding team, and with Zach gone he'll have one less ally in the lockerroom.

isn't miami at all concerned with butts in the seats for home games? who are fans coming to watch? beck? pretty sure they have given this some pretty serious consideration, especially since saban almost got hung a few years back when he 'announced' that we were rebuilding and season ticket holders flipped.

I'd be surprised if someone offered up a 2nd rounder for him and we didn't take it.

3rd and beyond, yeah, we'll probably hang on to him. At least that would be my preference.

It sure would be sweet if we could get our act together, get all the pieces in place, and make a superbowl run for JT 2-3 years from now...a la Strahan.

We've had Zach, JT, Ronnie, Porter, etc for a few years now and Miami Fans haven't exactly been flocking to the stadium. One man isn't going to make us a better team, we are still going to be extremely lucky to win 3-5 games next year, so we might as well trade him for a younger asset.

but with ZT gone, JT is the only 'face of the franchise' left. ronnie isn't there yet - if he can healthy he will be. porter hasn't been here long enough and his first season with the fins we went 1-15 - so he doesn't count. who else is there that the fans can come and identify with? :foundout:

Apparently JT has been shopped somewhat and a 2nd rounder is not in the cards for a proposed trade with any team. IMO, JT is much more valuable to this team than a late 2nd or 3rd round pick...

It would only make sense that Tuna would want to keep a great player and good character guy like JT around. And with Adam Schefter reporting that the dolphins aren't interested in moving JT... I take comfort in that and I wouldn't say that with most NFL sources.

I'd like to keep him, but you don't do it just so the fans can identify with someone.

I don't think long and JT are mutually exclusive.

ofcourse not. but you know those higher ups are taking a serious look at this - w/o attendance there is no football team. that's why teams don't completely gut themselves when rebuilding as to not totally alienate the fan base. seriously, who would the fans be coming to watch?
