As much as I try to give ANY Dolphin the benefit of the doubt, Jason Taylor's priorities STINK..

As a "team leader" I (and Bill Parcells) expect more.. All he is doing is getting his acting career in motion..

Do you boys think he is a FIRST ballot HOF'er.. I don't

Sheesh. People just don't get it. What is YOUR priority? Family, right? Put yourself in his shoes. Well the NFL career winding down wouldn't it be wise to take care of your #1 priority by setting yourself up with a golden opportunity to kick start a very lucrative career to take care of your family? Even if he isn't doing this for his family, he's taking care of himself and what's wrong with that? If you have plans to leave your current job for whatever reason would you wait until you quit, were fired or laid off before you started looking for another job? No, you need to be smart and plan ahead. Just like retirement...plan ahead. In just the same way that football requires strategy and game planning so does life and he's game planning his long-term goals. Is he a FIRST ballot HOF'er...no way! Why would he be? Honestly, why would he be a HOF at all? Do you think he cares about that? He's done nothing but play his heart out for this team and when it's all said and done what else can you ask of someone?

Man...get over it people!

Was family his #1 priority when Katina ask him for a divorce? Quit trying to make out like JT is some great family man. He put his FAMILY in danger confronting that road rage guy on the highway instead of using his cell phone to alert athorities and did god knows what to have his wife asking for a divorce. That family thing is a weak attempt for player fans and JT to try and still stand on his pedistal. Were not buying that BS. He don't care about the Dolphins players or fans.

The bottom line is Football has allowed these opportunities. I dont care how someone spins this dancing deal, this does not put him in position to be a great football shape...Im not talking about conditioning. i am talking about putting back on the mass he lost while dancing. I dont care who you are talking about and how fast they are, if you weigh 220 and you are an NFL Defensive End you WILL be eaten alive.

True, all he cares about is himself.. He should be trying to figure out how to make Miami a damn playoff team and teaching the new "kids" how to be a top notch DE, not dancing, even if the dancing is on his "own time".

He has 8 million reasons to CARE about the Dolphins

God, i hope they get a 2nd rounder for him

Cry me a river, as far as I see it he can do whatever he likes. Whiney babies! The only way you will ever here me complain about JT is during the season, and he has to screw up royally, and then a play later he usually makes up for any mistake he may have done. Otherwise he is a dolphin, and I don't care what anyone says, if he is wearing our colors we should support him in anything he does. The only people I would really expect to ride him as hard as some of you do are the Jills, Jets, and Cheatriot fans. Wait, I may have figured it out, I think those of you who bad mouth fins players must be fans of the enemy. Yep that's it.

Why? Their QB is his boyfreind and he would trade our team for him.

All i want is players who want to WIN and if trading him helps the dolphins then i am all for it..
if keeping him helps the dolphins then i'm all for it.

imo, having a 2nd rounder next yr is better for Miami..

and btw, i think parcells agrees

I want to live in the world where 220 pound Dfensive ends/linebackers are successful. Dont shrug off legit complaints saying that we are "Whiny" and "Fans of the enemy" Do you know what Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith have in common while on this dancing show??? They were retired! JT is skinny and we are counting on him to be a defensive playmaker. Im not a fan of the enemy, but I am a big fan of common sense.

Fans of the enemy, bull... you have no clue what your talking about.. i was a dolphin fan long before JT, hell even before Marino, and i'll be one long after JT retires from acting.

ALL most of us on this forum want is a GD SuperBowl win, with or without ANYONE on the current roster.

I definitely think the man has paid his dues in order to get into the HOF. People's priorities change over the years. The man has played his *beep* off for us for a long time on a team that had seen more coaching/qb changes than a turnstile on crack. That being said, I don't necessarily agree with what he's doing, but the man is looking out for his and his families future

Jason Taylor is going to have his WORST YEAR in his career this year. Bet it. Then I can't wait for everybody to come to JT's defense. He already said he's exhausted. Well wait till he gets on that field. We need to make a trade before he shows his 5th rounder value.
:buddwalk:

:err: Okay, not sure what happened here but I posted the following in another thread by mstake. It was meant to go here so I'll copy and paste it. Sorry for the double post if you see this on another JT thread. :foundout:

So I posted this question on a nother thread and never got a response. Let's see if it's adressed here.

What if it wasn't Dancing With The Stars he was on and it something more like "Weightlifting With The Stars" or "Celebrity Strength Challenge" or something like that? Would it still be an issue? Or is the problem that people think dancing is for sissys and pansies?

And for those saying that football gave him this opportunity, you're right...but so what? What does that have to do with anything? He has more than repaid his debt to the NFL with all effort he puts on the field, the charity work he's done and the role model that he is. But because he's still playing he still has to owe his life to the NFL? BS! Okay, so let's say he waits until his career is done to do this. Fine. Then on the last play of the last game of his career he destroys his knee. So much for that opportunity, right? Isn't that the same argument that some college players make while deciding to be draft eligible before graduating? I'm sure those players have scholarships that "afforded them the opportunity" but they certainly make the jump, don't they? Only in their case they are leaving everything and everyone high & dry. In JT's case this is his off-season to do whataver the hell he wants. So...I still don't see the problem here. Hell, there may even be more Dolphin fans after this!

I wouldn't like ANY player on my team pursuing an acting career until after he is RETIRED. I don't care if its hunting, dancing, singing...whatever.

Let me repeat a question I just made in the other thread that nobody answered either.....

If JT didn't have a contract AND still wanted to play......Would he be on this dancing show?

IMO ....NO
