Um, why? Were the Pirates really in on Pierre? I find that hard to believe.

Cubs gave up real fast on Corey Patterson. Don't know if I would have.

i agree, i relaly like pateron, but Pierre gives them instantly one of the best leadoff hitters. He should set the talbe now for ramirez and lee. I like the trade for the cubs, now they can trade patterson, maybe to the yankees? or id personally liek him to trade him to my sox if Damon leaves(whcih i hope he doesn't) I am also sorta suprised he didnt get maybe traded for FLA, now Florida has no CF.

welll

lets just say the Marlins arnt the marlins no more~!

Why donesnt he just sell the whole team in one pacakage

Damn I am pissed the Cubs pulled this trade off, I wanted Pierre on the Yankees. With his speed we could have had a certified leadoff hitter who manufactured runs with his legs. This threw a damper on my morning, I thought the Cubs had settled on Milton Bradley and Pierre would fall into the Yankees lap!

Patterson's certainly been given his share of chances, but I don't like how they rushed him to the bigs like they did. I don't think he ever quite recovered from that. This could be another Jose Guillen situation where he starts hot in his career, falls off the radar and re-emerges in a few years as a big time player.

Maybe the Yankees should look into Patterson for Centerfield. It's been 2 years since his ACL injury and if he can't cut it batting in a line-up with Jeter, Giambi, A-Rod, Sheffield, and Matsui, then he probably won't cut it anywhere. At this point, with what's on the market, I'd take my chances with him!

That's certainly not the worst idea I've heard for the Yanks. The Cubs probably wouldn't demand much in trade.
