I do not have a link to supply but I live here in Charlotte, NC and Julius Peppers agent was interviewed here on talk radio and stated and I quote,

"Julius love's the Miami Dolphins defensive scheme and would love to play for the Dolphins".

Julius said that he wants out of Carolina but I think he'll want to be the highest paid defensive player in the League. Also, I think it would take at least a 1st and a 3rd round pick to pry him out of here once the Franchise tag comes down. I could definitely see him being a hybrid type player ala Jason Taylor.

They can only franchise one and it will be Gross.

Its hard to see this move being made now since we signed Cameron Wake. He could take a wack at Vonnie's spot but doubt it.

peppers is worth a first all day

if you can get a player of that caliber who would be on the top of his game for 6 more years or so for a first?

Not the motive of the team. Just turned 29, don't know how he'd work out in our 3-4. I'd sign him, but wouldn't trade a first for him.

I do not believe you can franchise a player more than once, or at least in two consecutive years. The Panthers slapped the tag on Gross last year, won't be done again. Also I think Peppers agent is just lobbying interest from other clubs, similar that of Chad Johnson last year, he ended up being interested in every team.

The word out of here is that they will try and get a deal done with Gross as quickly as possible so that they can tag Pep. Gross will become the highest paid Tackle in the league but the Panthers are hoping for the home town discount.

Another interesting tidbit...there has been a contract on the table for most of the year that would have made Pep the highest paid defensive player in the league...Pep turned it down and said it wasn't only about money...word is that he was very unhappy with the defensive scheme and felt he was underutilized here...So money isn't the driving factor.

You CAN tag a player 2 years in a row. Alot of people around here think otherwise and I have no idea where they got that but the fact is you CAN tag a player 2 years in a row.

The Panthers are stupid if they franchise Peppers. Obviously, the guy don't want to play for their organization so why force him to stay and pay him top DE money? If Peppers does get franchise tho, I would not trade picks to acquire him. The only player deserves to be traded picks for is Asomugha.

As for Peppers position.. maybe he can play ILB for us?? i dunno. I want Cameron Wake to start.

I understand where he is coming from
I believe he would be able to play the 3-4 OLB (Roth did and he is not half the athlete) not ripping on Roth but Peppers is a freak
would not trade for him but if he hits free agency we got offer him a contract if he don't take it then F*ck it we tried

Does any one feel that Peppers could make the move into a 3-4 scheme?
What about the cash he would demand? Can he convert from a DE into a hybrid player like Jason Taylor being 40 Lbs heavier than JT. .could he therefore do all required in that role such as cover TEs and RBs. .

That guy can do anything he wants to. I watched him at UNC and since. He's one of my favorite players. Yes, absolutely he could.
