Tight end Jordan Cameron is back with the Dolphins for the 2016 season, but he’ll be making less money than he was set to make when he signed with the team last year.

Cameron was going to make $7.5 million before agreeing to a pay cut of $1.5 million after catching 35 passes for 386 yards and three touchdowns.

Cameron would likely have had a hard time finding a bid to beat the Dolphins’ offer after light production last season, but he had another reason to stick around Miami. Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas thrived while playing for new Dolphins head coach Adam Gase’s offense in Denver and told Cameron “you have to play for this guy” before Cameron made the call on the pay cut.
Martellus Bennett and Zach Miller had some good moments playing for Gase with the Bears last year as well and Cameron will try to follow suit in hopes of keeping his salary from any more steep drops when his contract expires after the coming season.

It's really hard not to get excited with all these ringing endorsements on Gase...

Julius Thomas convinced Jordan Cameron to take a pay cut?

That's ironic.

jury is out if Gase has the assets he had in Denver
no need for the devils advocate / captain obvious comments. We ALL know the jury is still out on gase until the real games are played, however it is a good sign that players all over the league are endorsing gase

Without even being asked a question. That's even more important than being asked specifically about said coach like Rodgers was asked about Philbin.

I suppose it could be case of "Hey man dont make the same mistake I did." Of course Thomas could still do well with Bottles.

If gase would have had any other qb than peyton manning in denver, i could get behind more of this stuff. When the show went to chicago (without manning), well........, not so special. And tanny isnt in the same breath with manning.

There were top notch players all over that denver roster. And thats good, because to do great things in the nfl, you have to have great players. Especially at the qb position. Chicago? Mediocre talent with good qb and the results sere......., mediocre. 21st ranked offense.

Meh.

Take it all with a grain of salt folks. I am not a gase basher, i am just looking at the gase FACTS so far. And so far, nothing screams genious, guru, the offense version of billichek. Just seems like with everything we have suffered over the last 15 years or so, especially after last year, that people would not be so easy to jump on a bandwagon before theres a band.

So when Gase was QB coach with Tebo and he got them to playoff, that didn't count, huh? Let's see, Chicago lost both starting receivers, OL injuries, and yet Jay had one of his best years, hmm, even Payton had his best year under Gase, record setting one at that, after the injury at that. Okay I'll give Gase some lead way here. He's done just enough to give me some confidence.

We need to find someone to talk with $uh!

Way too much $$$ in that direction.

Cameron is a talented tight end. His time in Cleveland showed this, but Gary Barnridge made him expendable up there. Gase's system is all about matchups and player strengths, so hopefully Gase can get the most out of this guy.
