I know it's way too early for anything like that but I almost had to shudder just thinking of a scrub like that being our starting RT this year. If that's the case then our offense is in big trouble.

I don't think he will be our RT.
But, it's not like he didn't at least show some decent potential. Maybe. =)

Give it time, we still have the draft and more FA to find an RT. And who knows, Carey may be heading back to that side. What about LJ Shelton, has he signed with anyone? 2 years ago w/ Shelton and Carey on the right side together dominated.

Patience.....patience......The front office is just getting started.

The dates of April 26-27 and June 1 will have a huge impact on the roster.

I would, not call Wilson a scrub, he just was a rookie last year.He already did more than Joe Toledo did his whole time here. Nobody has seen him at RT yet, he was forced to play some left in training camp but is more of a RT.
Keith Davis and Nate Jones suck at thier regular positions and people seem excited about adding them.I doubt he will be our starter at RT but he is a developmental guy that is still on the team over Alabi and Toledo so maybe we see something in him.

Julius Wilson is amonster at run blocking. His problem was learning pass blocking technique and also the playbook. Lorenzo Booker raved about him last year at training camp. If he's improved his pass blocking and learned blitz recognition and the playbook, dont be surprised if he starts and dont be surprised if he's a decent ROT

excellent point

I suppose Jim Langer and Bob Keuchenburg were scrubs too. wasn't the whole '72 OL castoffs?

I doubt he'll start at RT, the roster isnt complete guys.

When u only have 2 tackles on the entire team lol . . . he has no choice but to be penciled in as of now. Better him than playing a man short

Julius Wilson carried a draftable grade last year of about the 5th round. He came from a small school Alabama Birmingham which I am sure hurt his stock a bit. Every year we pick up undrafted college free agents that can turn out to be real gems and I am happy that we picked up both Wilson and Esera from Hawaii who were 2 such pickups in my opinion. Remember the Wale was a FA pickup that ended up being ALL PRO and we traded to Chicago as well as Wes Welker was a FA. So do not be so quick to write Julious off yet!

He will be replaced by Vernon Carey.

*wink *wink

Anything that Julius Wilson does is a bonus conssidering he was an undrafted free agent, I hope we develop him.

Julius Wilson was the human turnstyle last year in presason if I recall correctly. Doing his favorite Wade Smith imitation.

I think we should really give Julius Wilson a shot at LG. He is a good run blocker and is getting better at pass blocking, but I don't know if he will ever be good enough to play LT or RT. Call me crazy, but I think Wilson has pro bowl potential if given a at LG. I know that is quite a statement considering the guy wasn't even drafted, but I really think he has that kind of potential.
