Just a theory to throw out there from the far reaches of my warped mind . I'm not saying I believe it or that it will happen (it's too far fetched to think it will). Say the Dolphins sit Tua all season (which they likely will). This gets him completely healthy. Going into the 2021 Draft, he still has a huge amount of trade value. The Dolphins package Tua with the Texans pick and our own to move into number 1 to take Trevor Lawrence.

Of course if they play him this season and he gets seriously injured (again), he has no trade value.

Don’t you think teams will worry about his injury history if he sits all year and does not play which will impact his trade value.

Onmy in america do people say they want to go back to work (so they can help rich people get richer).

In theory, yes. You have two first round picks, an injury prone Tua. DO IT. Lawrence is also a generational talent, ill take healthy over injured any day.

And of course, Rosen is insurance. 22 year old first round pick who wont take football seriously. He can go far if he tries.

Got it ....
trade players for draft picks
Draft a franchise QB
Sit him ... never sees the field
Trade him for draft picks
Draft franchise QB

Maybe we could throw Rosen in with the Tua trade so a team will have a starter AND a back up ... just think of all the draft capital that would get us ....

I'm happy with Tua. We landed a franchise QB and stayed at #5. Chris Grier did a good job posturing for months. Cold shoulder at combine. Talked about every player besides Tua leading up to the draft. No one knew what he was gonna do. Months of the Dolphins prefer Herbert. I'm getting a Chris Grier shirt made.
