With the team obviously in need of a young stud at QB, and the fact the two top dogs in the draft this year being gone by the time we pick, I think we need to look at teams with two TALENTED young QB's.

The way Alex Smith is playing with the 49ers this year under Harbaugh and his performance against the Saints, I think Smith has entrenched himself as the starter.

Quite a few people on this site, including myself were high a Kaepernick (spelling) coming out of college. I think he may be worth pursuing as an option. Maybe for a second or swap of our first rounders.

Just a thought, but I'm curious what you guys think.

explore all options but no way swap our 9th pick for possible last pick in first round

if I am San Fran, I am holding onto Colin Kaepernick for at least two more seasons. Alex Smith may be turning the corner, but he has been injury-prone in the past, and it never hurts to have another QB on the roster in case Smith does go down. If the Dolphins cannot trade up, or don't believe the cost is worth it to do so, then I think a guy to look out for is Brian Hoyer, the backup from the Pats. Although he may not generate as much buzz as Flynn on the free agent market, he has shown a lot of promise as well, and shouldn't cost nearly as much.
