Bored at work, went to NFL.com and submitted a question on the AFC wilcard and Henne, Heres the dialog:

Me:
Who you picking for the last 2 AFC wildcards. If denver and Balt split, and a couple of 7-7 teams win out (MIA or Pitt), we're going to have a few 9-7 teams. Also is Chad Henne the real deal, the INTs yesterday killed the Fins.

Matt, first off I think Chad Henne is more than an interesting prospect -- he's someone you can build your team around.

In regard to the wild card, if I had to choose right now I'd go with the Ravens and Broncos to hold off the 7-7 teams. Pittsburgh's conference record hurts them, and Miami's isn't great either.

He goes on to say watch out for Jax (i dont see that)

The point is guys, experts, people who do this for a living are so high on Henne it is unreal. Who knows, they may all be wrong, but if I were to bet on them or uneducated fans opinions, I know where I would put my money. Losses like yesterday suck, and Henne might be a huge reason we lost.....but he is also a huge reason we were in it. If we go 9-7 I think we will make the playoffs, if not we went 9-4 after the first 3 weeks with the toughest scheadual in the NFL. All with losing our QB, RB, NT, CB....and quite possibly found the real building block in todays NFL...a QB

Everyone who watches the games and understands football is high on Henne. In two of the past 3 games he's thrown for over 300 yards (the other game he threw for about 230) with VERY few open WR's. Anytime you're asked to put up numbers like that in ridiculously limited space, you're going to have mistakes.

We have the least dynamic WR's in the entire NFL (though, I'm high on Hartline as a future #2 or #3), and Henne is putting up big numbers. The Falcons and Ravens have two or three receiving options that are better than ANY of our current receiving options. During the offseason, the FO should supply Henne with some weapons.

Even Dan Marino stated that the Fins have their QB of the future in Chad Henne (yesterday in the postgame show). I'd say Danny knows a little about quarterbacks, and a sh** load more than most fans.

The only question is.. how closely did Dan look at Henne? Its easy to sit back, read the morning headlines and say this guy will be great...

I see your point, buy just 300 yards ain't big numbers, IMO. I would say maybe 300+ yards, 3+ tds, etc. are big numbers.

Henne has looked really good at times...

He has looked bad when he is under pressure..And alot of qbs look bad then..

He has to see when things are coming..(Takes time and experience for that)

The first pic was just a bad move on his part..He was getting pressure but should have thrown it away or taken the sack...It was a hail mary at best there..You cant do that...(Brady did it two weeks ago but in a more dire situation)

Henne had to realize that he could have take a sack there called a timeout and still had a shot at a long fg..

The 2nd pick pick...Was a bad throw and good covearge..He should not have thrown the ball but Ricky could have also tried a little harder to play DB..

The last pick the Titans sent 5 he had a little more time then he thought...The ball was tipped and it sailed on him...

You have 4 turnovers and still have a shot to win on the road..not bad...

Henne has shown when he has time he can be on target...Which is better than Beck and other young prospects could do for Miami...

You gotta love his mobility.. Which i was little perplexed that they did not call more rollouts for him yesterday..

He has also shown he can be a clutch player as well..gotta love that

The juror is still out on Henne we have to sit back as fins fans and hopefully just watch him develope..

Im not going to blame the Wr's any more. In recent games they have done a very good job IMO. Sure wed love a Marshall on this team, but so would 80% of the NFL. There are not many true #1's in the NFL.....our current group has really grown, and although they are still a very avg to below avg group, they have made great strides....cam, bess, hartline: props

I know this is Henne's first season and 10 tds and 12 interceptions
is not that impressive but when you consider the play of our wide receivers I think his play and numbers are pretty damn good.

I also think many fans forget about Tyler Thigpen who in his first full
season(14) games for KC had 18 tds and 12 interceptions,he also ran for 386 yards @ a 6.2 yard average.

I think Tyler with a full training camp will shake things up.
If this guy isn't running a version of the wild cat with his passing and running I will be shocked.

I also believe he could be great competition for the QB spot unlike the QB we bring into the game at the most unusual points this season

Interceptions are apart of the game...They are the qb's fault but alot goes into...

Some of his picks were results of Wr's dropping balls
Some were pressure on him..
A few were over throws..

Our Wr's have been alot better than ppl thought...

I love Hartline is going to be good if not even special..Carmarillo is good as well..

We need to have that deep threat going.. We have that but Henne can not connect on that yet..He will hopefully learn how to connect when a wr has a step...

There has been multiple time where Hartline has been open downfield and was overthrown..Bess a few times as well..

You can only run so many Comebacks and Slants before the D knows what your doing..
We have only connected on a few double moves..I would like to see us try that a bit more...

Tenn got such a big lead yesterday they were not afraid to just let us run..They rushed 4 almost the entire game..

You gotta give it up for their redzone D..they were able to hold us to Fg's and score Td's on us...

To's and not scoring Touchdowns kill a ball control style team that we are..

This year is not even over yet..Your willing to say that a Qb who is 7 and 4 as a starter could have competition from a qb who only won 2 games the year before..Sure his numbers were decent but you could say they were inflated as they were passing alot since they were down alot of the time..The Chiefs changed their whole O to accomdate him...

They are HUGE numbers when you consider that he doesn't have any big-play WR's and that all of his passes are being forced into tiny windows. Also, two of his early incomplete passes came on plays where Cam and Bess couldn't stay in bounds. The Cam play would have been a TD, and a good WR makes that play. Was it a difficult play? Yes. Am I faulting Cam.? No. Cam's just not athletic enough to make the plays that a GOOD WR makes. It was an absolutely PERFECT throw. Bess threw away a relatively easy catch by jumping out of bounds.

Give Henne real WR's that can make real NFL plays. He'll be great.

Henne made some bad throws but we also would never have come back from a 24-9 deficit halfway through the 4th quarter if not for Henne. I think the main reason we lost is we got down into the red zone numerous times in the first three quarters and had to settle for field goals. We didn't allow Chris Johnson to go crazy on us....I think he only had one big run and the rest were a few 10 yard runs, but you don't feel ashamed giving up 100 yards to a runner like him. I like us beating the Texans and Steelers at home and then who knows.

to the wildcard question... us and Pitt can't win out because we play each other week 17...

Baltimore still has to go to Pittsburgh and Denver still has to go to Philly... you'd think there is a better chance for that to end up with Pitt and Phi winning than the other way around... even if its just one of those go our way we still have a chance

Thigpen was also 1-10 as a starter. Just saying.
