Down at the Ritz in Key Biscayne. What time do I need to leave to get to the game on time? I fly down twice a year but always go to Sunday games so the traffic has never been an issue

Miami home games are a blast! However, i don't know how the Thursday game will be. Enjoy!

Key Biscayne? Yikes. Lots of rush hour traffic.
If you have a rental car you most likely have a Sunpass in it. Use the express lane on I95. Forget the cost. It can get up to $6 or $7 in rush hour traffic but it is money well spend.

You want to avoid rush hour traffic and stadium traffic. A lot of people will arrive after 6 because of work. Plan on being there when the parking lots open. That way you are save. Considering that you have to leave Key Biscayne and then head to I-95, go north to Golden Glades Interchange and then switch to the TurnPike which bottlenecks at the Golden Glades Interchange with 826 and I95 you pretty much will have all the bad traffic a human can possibly imagine.
Lots usually open about 4 hours before game time. I am coming from the north and plan on being there around 4:30/5pm. I would say you should leave Key Biscayne no later than 4. And I am serious about that. You probably will avoid most of the traffic and you are probably at the lot around 5.

If you need my number in case you have a question or want to catch up for a brew if you are there early enough just PM me.

I use to work on the Key. Hit the Rusty Pelican for a shrimp ****tail , a few real ****tails and the fantastic view of the city after the Buffalo win. Whiskey Joe's is right on the water and they have live music and lots of lovely ladies.. If you brought your clubs the course on the key is championship quality.
You probably know this so just have a blast :brewskis:

At least 25 - 30 mins from the Ritz to downtown depending on traffic so add that on.

Last time I was on 95 in Miami the express lane was closed. This was at two or three in the morning, though, so don't take my word for it. I don't live down there. I was just, uh... visiting. :D

The bottom line on Miami traffic is a simple one: there's no way to avoid it. So my advice to the OP is also simple: resign yourself to it and plan for it. You'll be much happier. If you expect to be able to do 10 things and get to the stadium at the last minute if you use the perfect route all that will happen is that you will end up purple faced with rage.

I do make the I95 run to Miami quite frequently and yes there are definitely times where it is closed. Even a bumper collision can wreak havoc on the Express Lane. No way to get out. If that happens OP would be better off taking US 1 or something.

Uh...

I would leave NO LATER than 4.

Thursday game, rush hour traffic.....yeah.

With moderate traffic it's still a 30-45 minute drive just to get to the stadium (not counting getting INTO the stadium parking lot etc) probably add another 20-30 minutes for that. Looking at a hour and half before you park the car and head to the fan zone.

Even if you get to the game a couple hours early it beats sitting in traffic for a hour or two.

Plus, you can hit up the fan zone and some free stuff, get the beer going early too.

P4e is not joking when he says you should leave by 4pm. Seriously.

Yes, sitting beachside right now. Also this Ritz is awesome, gorgeous resort. I always stay at Ritz's when I go away but this staff is amazing. For years I always stayed at the Fountain Bluea when I go to the Fins games but I hate that resort now because I don't care to see a bunch of shallow celebrities. Long story short....we are leaving at 4pm for the game. Thanks for all the input guys, especially you Oliver!
