Just how bad has our O-line been the past few years?

I'm still not sure how you justify making Pouncey the highest paid Center in football based off the last two seasons.

Anyone that has been watching this team the past 10 years or so could tell you that. We might just finally be getting a cohesive unit though in Albert, Pouncey, James and the draft picks or we can only hope. Just need to solidify LG and RG.

Wait, it gave those grades prior to Albert's injury? PFF is terrible.

60 percent solid is still an F.

Here's a run down of the games Dallas played at OG with the PFF grades to compare to what you or others see.

Buff- RG, 41 snaps. Overall +0.1 Pass +0.4 Run -0.1 0 sacks, 0 hits, 1 hurries
KC - RG, 71 -3.6 -1.5 -2.3 0 sacks, 0 hits, 3 hurries
Oak- RG, 74 -2.5 +1.4 -3.1 0- 0- 0

Jax- LG, 50 snaps. Overall -1.0 Pass -0.9 Run -0.2 - 0- 1- 1
SD - LG, 78 -2.7 -2.3 -1.1 - 0-1- 4
Det- LG, 48 -2.8 -2.6 -0.3 - 0- 0- 3

As you can see, they do not grade him highly in his first year on the field. However, it is not far from being average.

I do not bother to post his grades at RT or a specific pre-season game. Suffice it to say that he was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE but, does not matter as he is NOT a RT, and pre-season does not matter.

Lifted this post from an earlier discussion about Dallas Thomas. Seeing that Thomas has six games playing primarily guard and graded +0.1, -3.6, -2.5, -1.0, -2.7 and -2.8 does that mean that Thomas's PFF rating at guard was better than six of the eight starting AFC East guards and not far behind Aboushi who was second with a -2.1 rating?

What it's basically saying is in 6 games he was a -12.5 overall. But over a full season if that was extrapolated since PFF grades are compounding, he'd be around a -33 give or take. Grades wise that would be lowest among eligible guards. Obviously he wouldn't be lowest if we extrapolated everyone's #'s over 6 games, but he'd be very low.

I'm more interested in his pass blocking. Over a full season he'd be giving up 0 sacks, 5 hits and 32 hurries. 32 hurries would place him second in the league...

thanks. I didn't know if the grades were compounded or an average per game. So his numbers would be about the same as Pouncey's and Colledge's over 16 games.

Yeah. Well essentially they get graded for each individual game. So naturally at the negative rate he was going at, his negative rating would grow as he played more games.

gotta take into account who they went up against, what stats go into the ratings etc. People will argue part of the poor ratings comes as part of the QB holding the ball, WRs that can't get open and RBs that cant hit a hole.

It was like our problem with finding a HC.. We continued to change guys and never let a unit actually play together for a while to develop.
