Just how bad is the Miami Dolphins defense?

The Dolphins rank 26th or worse in the NFL in seven of the 10 major defensive categories that are tracked. And those would be:
Total yards per game. The Dolphins rank 30th. They’re allowing 414.5 yards per game.

Yards per play. The Dolphins rank 29th. They’re allowing an average of 6.4 yards per play.
Passing yards per game. The Dolphins rank 30th. They’re allowing 307 passing yards per game.

Passing yards per attempt. The Dolphins rank 30th. They’re allowing 8.0 yards per pass attempt.
Percentage of passes intercepted. The Dolphins rank 29th. They’ve intercepted 1.4 percent of passing attempts.
Sacks per pass play. The Dolphins rank 29th. They’ve generated 6 sacks in four games.

First downs per game allowed. The Dolphins rank 26th. They’ve allowed 21.5 first downs per game.
Not good.

Pretty safe to say the defense has been a huge disappointment. Without a healthy Vontae Davis, the secondary may be the worst in the league.

Talent wise = not that bad, though the Safety position is atrocious, as is depth at CB and LB.

Execution and effort wise, though? Absolutely putrid.

Another overhaul needed! Bell and Smith are terrible ,Play Wilson and some young guys to see if they're keepers, it can't get any worse than what it is.

If you take out plays where Reshad Jones blows his coverage assignment, I think we'd be ranked a lot higher. Reshad Jones blows.

This defense is so bad that if Daniel Constantine Marino was our startng Quarterback, he would STRUGGLE to win 4 games this seasn.

The Fins "D" has a total of (7) yes (7) FFB points thru 4 games...Dead last on the NFL FA list and just below KC's 9 points.
