Just how foolish is the Colts new FO staff?

I know that rookie salaries are not near as bad as they were a couple of years ago.

IMO, it is still very smart of save as much money as possible.

The issue here is that the Colts told Andrew Luck a week ago that that would take him number one and now they can't seem to get a contract finished before the draft.

My question is why not play off RG3 against Andrew Luck to A) get a contract done before the draft and B) get the best contract possible.

Because if word got out that the Colts were negotiating with RGIII the Colts staff would have a mutiny on their hands.

I don't think it matters much.

But what you say is true.

Either way, whatever the NFL slots the #1 pick at is what Mr. Luck will get. And he'll have to sign it.
