Just Looked At ESPN'S YPA Rankings

yeah the ypa is extremely low...seems content to take the bird in hand rather than threaten down the field...i'm hoping that number will improve in time...and with familiarity of where to go with the football as he sees more defenses against it

Maybe a few years ago, comparing any QB to Tom Brady would be a compliment. In 2014, it's a different Brady.

Lazor addressed the YPA in his presser yesterday and took the blame for it. You like a stand up guy as a coach.

I still am enamored with the style of this offense. There is alot of potential to rack up points. I will say, though, I am surprised at the lack of tempo so far. My hunch is that the coaches aren't comfortable yet unleashing tempo as the players get more and more adapted. I assume we will see tempo eventually. I like the strategy and run designs. I'm an unabashed Lazor fan.

Passing yards seem to be down league wide so far...Matt Ryan leads with 340/game one of which was the 400+ yd game against NO. Surprising with all the defensive holding BS emphasis during the preseason. Have the defenses gotten so good that its all dink and dunk across the league?? Maybe we're caught up in a trend.

I still believe in Lazor too. In his presser he said the Dolphins were last in YPA. So I was curious about the rankings and the irony at actually who was last.

However, YPA is a reliable measure of a QB's ability. And at some point the Tannehill supporters would have to admit concern, I would think. When Tannehill wins 3 championships, ranking last in YPA after 2 weeks will not be concerning. Up until now, however, he has proven nothing.

RT throws to his outlet receiver much to often.
Hartline and Gibson have hardly been thrown to.
All those throws behind the LOS and at the LOS are really killing his average.

Even at his best RT, is not elite.
A monster game for RT is a usual game for Brees, the old Brady, or Rodgers, etc..etc
He simply is not that good in most games.
We should not think that he is our franchise QB because if we do, we are settling for mediocrity.
Shula had Woodley and Strock, yet he sill took Dan Marino.
That is the way this team should approach the QB position.

The issue could be conditioning as well. Look at all the injuries.
I think this team is not prepared from a physical standpoint. Amirite?

Well, on the bright side, perhaps Tannehill is a young Tom Brady with legs after all.

In all seriousness, I think everyone believes Tom Brady will not keep his YPA that low for long. Tannehill......... not so much.

Check out tannehills QBR rating on espn. Next to last... Just above henne.

Let's not forget that it was Jeff Ireland who chose both Tannehill and Henne. He passed over Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan to take Tannehill and Henne. Any of you Ireland fanboys want to stand up and defend this? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?

Thank you Jeff Ireland.

We starting using those 2 in the second half...

Do these clowns know there is a 1st half too?????

Last year, Mike Wallace didn't get enough throws his way...Now, they are making him get too many throws while neglecting solid receivers in Hartline, Gibson and Landry...

Brady would kill for our receiving corps. Tannehill ranks very low in many, many crucial categories. Yet I heard today that he's PFF's second ranked QB. If that's true... PFF is pretty much invalidated for eternity.
