Gaylon Update
As an update to previous reports, the Sun-Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins LB Scott Gaylon (thumb) has ligament damage in his thumb, not a broken thumb like originally believed. Head coach Dave Wannstedt said he should be ready for the team’s regular season opener September 8.

Bowens Forced To Leave
The Sun-Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins DE David Bowens (hand) was forced to leave Monday’s practice after hitting his hand on a teammate’s helmet. X-rays were taken, but the results won’t be known until later on Tuesday.

No way Bowens gets left off the roster.

[intro]Bowens Update

Defensive end David Bowens broke the top of his left hand when he hit it against a teammate's helmet Monday night in practice. Bowens underwent surgery Tuesday that will sideline him for about three weeks, but the Dolphins expect him back for the Indianapolis Game week 2, if not the Lions game opening day.

Here's the whole scoop according to ESPN

ESPN tells the woeful tale

"...broke his hand in practice and underwent surgery Tuesday that will sideline him for about three weeks."

Bowens had already made this team..remember he was named the starter prior to hurting his Hammy...He got back in and then broke his hand...I glad it's only 3 weeks...this kid can play..Miami just can't get a break..no pun intended..when it comes to injuries.

D. Bowens was expected to start at DE opposite J. Taylor this season. He'll be back, and he'll be fine. It was nothing that needs any kind of major rehabing or strengthening, and he should return in time for the opener.....

PHINZ RULE!!!
