Well, it was a disappointing season. They finished 7-9. It was a season full of heartbreaks.
4, 3, 7, 6 were the margins of defeat in four of those games. Then, there was the 21 point lead blown to the Saints and the games vs. Buf and NE in which they led at the half.
Coaching: Sparano had a great first year, but struggled this year. I wonder if maybe he overworked everybody in training camp. How to explain the team coming out as flat as they did in the final three games. He made poor in-game decisions, as well. We all remember the TO vs. the Saints, or the many times he punted when he needed to go for it. Still, I think he can take us back to the playoffs next year. He'll learn from this year. Our OC, I think, has got to go. Henning made far too many dumb play calls this year, that cost us several games. The Ricky pass was ridiculous, and abandoning the running game vs. Saints
QB: Henne was 7-6 as a starter this year. Not bad for a rookie. He did make some rookie mistakes, but that is to be expected. He showed some excellent poise in leading comebacks vs. the Jets, Bucs, and Pats. Not too mention how he was affected by the shaky play of the receivers.
RB: Ricky was magnificent this year. Hopefully he plays beyond 2010, because he's in prime shape right now. Ronnie was playing well too, until he got injured. Lex Hilliard showed great promise at the end of this year. Patrick Cobbs has played well, too. This is probably Miami's strongest position.
WR: Ginn and Bess were both maddeningly inconsistent this year, with drops, but Ginn was worse. Brian Hartline was quite impressive this year. I think next year we should make him into a full time starter. He didn't have the dropsies the others did, and made some huge catches this year.
Pat White: I wish somebody would look up how many TDs he was on the field for. He made some nice runs this year. I think he'll be good in a slash role. I expect he'll be back with the fish in 2010.
