just sharing some tanenbaum stuff I found.

I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt right now. Dont really understand the move although as i thought Hickey had decent enough draft last year...

Well fortunately he isn't going to be mainly responsible for drafts. But ya it's not as bad a track record as people make it out to be. That Vernon Gholston pick though....

Lets see what happens.

I wouldn't expect him to get in Hickey's business for the draft....at least I hope not. His record with the Jets is pretty mixed, but I think he is fairly well respected around the league.

I still don't understand what Hickey did that makes him so good.

He drafted a RT and a slot WR, his FA were busts due to injury.

Nothing was great.

Obviously not as a GM considering he couldn't land another comparable job and had to resort to becoming a sports agent.

I liked his moves, they actually built a very good team in NY that came close twice. i give anything to have those two years as a miami fan. The the issue here is he going to be making the same call here. And what if Hickey doesnt want to go his route?

Jets had some nice OL's maybe Tbaum and Hickey can get some nice pick ups in the draft and FA. I do applaud Hickey's selection of James. Dude was a true talent this year at RT and LT.

You're right you don't understand!

Tell me a GM that nails all draft picks or FA signings ? Hickey had to deal with bad signings from Ireland. Wheeler and Ellerbie. He drafted a stud in James , Landry , Williams and signed Delmas that played well. We are not Baseball. We do have a Salary Cap. I am impressed with Hickey and hopefully they both can draft well for us.

I'd say Tannenbaum had 2 good draft classes, and the others were complete failures. The 2006 draft was great because they drafted so high and had two 1st round picks, and it was a historically great draft class too with 17 of the 1st round picks ending up as pro-bowlers.

None of the players he traded for stuck around - they played for the Jets anywhere for 1 to 3 years. That's not getting good value out of your picks mid-round picks. The trades he made were terrible - most were made out of desperation because he drafted so poorly. Trades for players happen when you can't draft your own talent. And almost none of his players made it to their 2nd contracts. I'd put this guy a step below Ireland.

Tannenbaum will be a great VP of ops. He needs a football guy that he can work with as GM. I am not sure that is going to be Hickey...in fact, I am pretty sure it will not be.
