just some lil info regarding holliday and such.

I found this to be very interesting to those that wanted Scott Pioli and critcised Wayne Huizenga for not going after him.
Though Patriots executive Scott Pioli's name was raised inside the Dolphins' offices before the team committed to Randy Mueller last month, ''we had feedback he wasn't interested,'' owner Wayne Huizenga said.

Nice tidbit Geforce. I was wondering about that. Pioli is rumored to have a "short list" and it was always assumed the Giants were at the top of it until he basically snubbed them.

I wonder if Cleveland is on top of it.

BTW I don't see the big deal in letting Holliday go. Kevin Carter moves over to his spot and Matt Roth takes over at Closed End, and we don't miss a beat.

I'd rather do that than accelerate a bunch of signing bonus by cutting Kevin Carter, and then spending yet more signing bonus by signing Vonnie Holliday to a new contract. Holliday is not the future at that spot.

Totally agreed. We want to get younger on the line. We don't do that by continually throwing money at old players. I think we've got some decent talent at that position to develop.

nevertheless holliday is a very good player ...i want him back

From ESPN Insider which was taken from PFW:

• Though he'll be an unrestricted free agent, Dolphins DE Vonnie Holliday told PFW that he would prefer to stay in South Florida, and the return of defensive coordinator Dom Capers is a big reason why. "No one wants to rebuild and go through that whole process of learning a new defense, but it happens," he said. "But the opportunity to come back here and continue to play on a team that I'm very familiar with and for Coach Dom Capers, a guy I've gotten to know very well over the last year and who I have tremendous respect for, would be an excellent opportunity and one I look forward to."

I think that short list is "whatever NFL team gets Kirk Ferentz".

I'll bet not having to pay state income tax helped as well. Especially considering Vonnies age this is most likely his last contact.

I dont think Holliday is worth spending big money on.

The only way he gets resigned if he recognizes that he plays kind of a unique position he wont be doing elsewhere and his stats were partly product of the system.
