I think I speak for everyone when I say that this loss was pretty painful to swallow. Not only because it was to a divisional rival and the Jets, but because we had a handful of opportunities to win this game, and we just couldn't execute when it mattered.
However, we need to put this loss behind us. This was the first game of the year, not the playoffs. Did we get some bad calls? Yes. Were dumb mistakes made by players? Yes. It's not the end of the world, it's week 1 of a 17 week season. We are not out of contention and the season is FAR from over. We have to learn from the mistakes in the Jets game and make sure we don't make those same mistakes.
We are rebuilding, and I think we will win 6-7 games this year. As much as I'd like for us to win every game, I know that isn't realistic, but as long as I see improvements from our team, I'll be happy.
Look at it this way. After tonight, half of the teams in the league will be 0-1.
