When Fiedler was on the Dolphins, Cannizzaro ROASTED him constanly, always saying he would never amount to be a good starting QB.

Now in today's NY Post, there's a big article on Fiedler and Cannizzaro says:

If you feel a trifle more comfortable with Jay Fiedler backing up Chad Pennington than Quincy Carter, you're not alone.

This is why, with the enigmatic Carter having departed the Jets en route to another stint in rehab, the Jets viewed the former Dolphins' starter as the perfect fit. Fiedler, unlike Carter, has proved himself as not only dependable but as a winner over a period of time.

So now he's a proven winner huh? After years of trashing him?

What a tool...

Amazing. sports reporters are not responsible for anything they say. There about as dependable and accurate as weather men

Truth be told, even though it's late, Jay was a winner..I loved his heart.

I don't read the Post too often as it is one notch above the Nat'l Enquirer so I'm not familiar w/ his body of work. IMO, he didn't say Fiedler would be a great starter, he said "over a period of time" he would do good. I agree with this assessment. I hated Fiedler as a starting QB but would have been happy if he was our fall back guy for a couple of games with no chance of ever being our staring QB. With the Jets, there is no QB controversy. Chad is the man unless he gets hurt then Fiedler comes in. If Fiedler has to play more than 3 games, the Jets are in trouble. But if all he has to play is 3, they'll be alright IMO.

I agree. His talent might be crappy, but you got to respect the guy because he played with heart and toughness.

You're missing the point....I'm not saying anything bad about JAY.

I'm saying this guy used to basically say he was a piece of sh*t, and now he's calling him a "proven winner" because he's a Jet.

HE'S the idiot.

they had an inside jets camp on nfl network...theyshowed fiedler running plays...didn't look too good imo....same ol lame ducks on the long ball etc...grante dthere was one he put on the money and the receiver dropped it...

it was about a 40 yard pass maybe? looked like a freakin rainbow

We didn't miss the point pagan, I'm saying the praise from that guy is late, of course he's a homer, it generally shows when the players you trash are on a another team and then when they come to you, they're better than slice bread.

Outside of last year when Marino in his prime couldn't have won w/ that team check the dolphins record w/ jay in the lineup and w/o. I don't recall Cannizzaro trashing him, please show some proof.
