RE: Just watched the replay - "Monday morning QB"
Yea, we made alot of mistakes during the game.
Penalties, missed coverages, wiffed blocks, bad routes, and dropped balls.
Some of our players were outplayed by the jets players - that happens.
The thing that stuck out to me was the offensive play calling.
I know the coaches think we can be a run oriented team but after the jets proved they could stuff our running game, they should have switched to a pass first offense to loosen up the jets. I am convinced that if we went to a no huddle hurry up style after half time and stuck with it, the jets would have had to drop their linebackers. That could have opened up and few more holes to balance the attack and get the jets off balance. I hope Dan Henning is not one of those stubborn run first and second down predictable offensive coordinators.
We will be able to do that later on as the oline jells and we establish some continuety. We need to score points now and win games, not worrying about what our offensive identity will be. As the games are played, our identity will get established.
Despite this I do believe we are on the right track and we will win this year.
I hope Henning will open up the offense and get our players properly prepared for arizona.

Did anyone see Brett Favre Illegally bat the ball forward when Roth whiffed on the sack to Favre, but kept after it and came back and knocked the ball out of Favres hand? Favre then batted the ball some 20 yards up field and it was yet another play the Refs didn't call. And I watched the Pass interference call on Miami in the third that was not pass interference. I'm not saying these were reasons we lost, just that the refs sure had a problem calling obvious plays.

what i saw in watching the replay was samson satele had a really rough game. i knew he struggled with kris jenkins who is a monster but a lot of the pressure up the middle on penny was from sateles responsibility.

i also saw that in watching the ilbs vs the run akin ayodele really stuck out as a guy who never filled the hole or filled the wrong hole and when engaged by a guard could not shed blocking. a lot of the jets success running the ball came to his side.

in watching crowder on run blitzes it just seemed like they always ran the ball to the opposite side leaving him trailing the play after he shot the gap on the other side. i'm trying to figure out if he's just not reading and reacting very well or if we're as a defense just not guessing right on which way they'd run the ball.

thank god for yeremiah bell running all over the field cause without him making tackles the jets would have run for a lot more yards.

i hope to see improvement this week vs zona from ayodele and satele.

i agree on passing.. but our receivers were also having problems. 1st down is the best down to pass... why not use it?

Because it's just not the Chad Pennington way. He plays boring football. Thats all there is to it.

The best ownage of the game came in the very first play of the 2nd qt.

It was 2nd and 2 and Ricky ran the ball and absolutely hammered and flattened Calvin Pace...you could hear the crack...it was so much of a fast and furious collision that if you don't watch the play closely you won't even see it, you'll only see the second guy tackle Ricky.
Pace was hit so hard he sit there on his knees for a while before he could get up.

If you have the recording you should watch it.
