RE: Just watched the replay - "Monday morning QB"
Yea, we made alot of mistakes during the game.
Penalties, missed coverages, wiffed blocks, bad routes, and dropped balls.
Some of our players were outplayed by the jets players - that happens.
The thing that stuck out to me was the offensive play calling.
I know the coaches think we can be a run oriented team but after the jets proved they could stuff our running game, they should have switched to a pass first offense to loosen up the jets. I am convinced that if we went to a no huddle hurry up style after half time and stuck with it, the jets would have had to drop their linebackers. That could have opened up and few more holes to balance the attack and get the jets off balance. I hope Dan Henning is not one of those stubborn run first and second down predictable offensive coordinators.
We will be able to do that later on as the oline jells and we establish some continuety. We need to score points now and win games, not worrying about what our offensive identity will be. As the games are played, our identity will get established.
Despite this I do believe we are on the right track and we will win this year.
I hope Henning will open up the offense and get our players properly prepared for arizona.
