He is staying in school. Does this alter any plans? If we bridge the gap until next year we have Tua, Fromm, Herbert and possibly Clemsons QB in the draft and should be able to get one of them. To me Haskins is the only QB that looks like 1st round material with Murray going the baseball route.

We will not be getting a viable starting QB in this draft without giving up too much. Next draft. Lose well this year.

Honestly, I'm surprised, but Herbert made the right decision. He's not ready for the NFL, and he could really use another year to hone his footwork and accuracy. Doesn't matter from a Dolphins point of view … we never had a shot at him anyway, he would have been over-drafted in the top 5.

But if we blow this up and start over, that will probably be next year (2020-2021 season), not this upcoming year (2019-2020 season). So, why not let the new coach come in with his own QB. If Gase is able to turn it around, we keep Tannehill of course, but if not, that's when we get a new head coach and QB in the same offseason.

I don't think we were going to get him but it still affects us in a way. Herbert would have gone top which in turn would have push a good player down to us. The highest we can draft at this time is 10(not gonna happen)but too much would have to go right this week for that. Most likely we'll be drafting 13 and that is of course if we lose at Buffalo. At the time we're drafting D-line is where the value will be and it'd have been nice to get another player dropping down to us.

Sign Bridgewater. If it fails then there's 2020.
Somebody is going to overpay him, it damn well better not be the Dolphins. For what he will cost, it would be a debacle in the making.

In fact it might just be the worst move the Dolphins could possibly make.

There is no point whatsoever in paying any of the young QB's on the market. They are no better than the much cheaper older backups.

if Murray declares you do whatever it takes to get him
If Arizona stays with the number one overall pick, Miami could make the kind of deal the Cardinals could go for. I think Arizona would love to get a quality left tackle to protect Josh Rosen and the Dolphins have one of the best young ones in Laremy Tunsil. I would hate to trade Tunsil, but if it netted Miami an elite quarterback would anyone complain? It would obviously weaken an already bad offensive line, but if you're thinking long-term to me no one if off the table.

Murray looks sensational to me, especially his athletic ability. Defenses at the college level have no chance when he decides to take off. I think he's the type of player who would elevate this entire team. Again, if he declares. If not, then I agree with those that say build the offensive and defensive line. Get a stopgap quarterback or even go with Tannehill for one more year.
