Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt has died.
Hunt passed away in a Dallas hospital at age 74 after battling cancer for several years. He was hospitalized the day before Thanksgiving with a partially collapsed lung. Doctors discovered that the cancer has since spread, and Hunt has been under heavy sedation since last week.
Hunt was a founder of the American Football League and played a huge rule in the A-F-L/N-F-L merger. He saw his Chiefs win Super Bowl Four in 1970, two years before he became the first AFL figure inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
