Off off Twitter is that Oakland is expected to cut their 2nd best defensive player, Kameron Wimbley, if he won't agree to a paycut.

Wimbley is a tremendous pass rusher. His deal was 5 years/48 million dollars. Remaining deal looks something like 3 years/23 million (numbers appear to be inconsistent everywhere I look). He is definitely somebody I would like Miami to take a look at. Has experience in both the 3-4 @ OLB and 4-3 @ DE

I'd be willing to take a look, but he's too inconsistent to pay a premium amount.

It would be hard to fit this guy in...He currently plays the same spot (WOLB) in OAK in the 4-3 that Dansby will probably play, so what do you do there? He is a pretty good player but I just dont know where he fits in. I wonder if he could move to DE opposite Wake?

I think he is def worth a look..If Misi is going to be moved inside.. then Wimbley would fit in at Strong side if Dansby plays the middle..He could also be a Joker and be moved around.. He can play Strong side in a 34..Or Weak. He could plays Strong or weak in a 43..He can even play De in that 43..He is under rated if you look at his production. Not sure what he wants money wise but def worth taking a look at ..and I think he is going to get alot of phone calls from NE, NYJ and the Kansas City Cheifs

I bet money NE will sign him

I think we will need the cap space for a starting QB. They aren't cheap.

I'm pretty sure Dansby played some SOLB in Arizona

Maybe he did, but you dont sign Wimbley to be a siuational player for the few times that Dansby plays SOLB. Plus Burrnet is an ideal fit for SOLB b/c it would be a VERY simillar roll to what he had in the 3-4 (guarding TEs).

Also, guys, I said he plays DE for a reason.

He'd be opposite Cameron Wake. He's a 3-4 OLB, 4-3 DE. He's a true Joker.
