Kansas Chiefs Offense charted out vs Denver Week 2

After reading that intel, Alex Smith scrambles and RB screens will move the chains against our defense all day long.
It will be a long day for the LB's / defense.

My Final Thoughts

This is a game where the LB's are going to be the key to this game, as well as tackling on the perimeter, and in the open field. Reid is a master in the screen game, and though it didn't show up a lot in the Broncos game, it is a great tool to help an over matched offensive line. Our defensive line will have to exhibit a great deal of patience, as I don't expect to see a whole lot of long developing routes, and they use a lot of bunch/stack looks in which Alex Smith literally wastes no time getting the ball to the correct man with accuracy.
I don't think a screen pass is the counter to an overmatched offensive line. The screen pass is the counter to slow down the blitz. And yes, I think there is a difference.

Here's an example: our offensive line was overmatched last week against the Bills and we tried some screens that never worked. The reason is that the Bills brought only four rushers on most of the plays and our offensive line couldn't handle it. There were too many defenders in coverage to allow for a successful screen game. No room to operate basically. Our screen game would have had a chance if the Bills blitzed more leaving some open space. They didn't have to blitz because their front four could generate enough pressure. There's not much an offense can do if your opponent can consistently pressure with four defenders because there's just nothing open.
