The Kansas City Chiefs Organization is proud to announce the Acquisition of 4 all pro players. The Chiefs have come a long way in upgrading both the offense and defensive side of the ball.

Michael Vick is one of the most athletic and jaw-dropping players in the NFL. He will be able to to lead the Chiefs offense to the next level, along with new acquisition Terrell Owens and the rest of the star studded offense

Terrell Owens is one of the strongest and most girfted wide receivers in football. A change of scenary is exactly what Owens needs, and Kansas City is a great place for him. Owens is now a major part of the best offense in football. With Michael Vick, Larry Johnson, Terrell Owens, Eddie Kennison, Tony Gonzalez, and the best offensive line in football, the Chiefs offense is looking better than ever.

Chris Mcallister is one of the leagues best corners. A true shutdown corner, McAlister will lead the revamped Chiefs secondary for years to come.

Sean Taylor is one of the leagues most talented defensive players. In his first 2 NFL seasons, Taylor has already made a significant impact on the defensive side of the ball. With Patrick Surtain, Chris McAlister, and Sean Taylor, the Chiefs secondary is one of the leagues best.

The Kansas City Chiefs are proud to announce three more acquisitions that will make the 2006 Chiefs better than ever.

Lavar Arrington. Considered one of the most athletic linebackers in the NFL, Arrington is a physical and emotional leader and has risen to the upper echelon of players in the league in just four seasons after being selected second overall in the 2000 NFL Draft.

Eric Shelton. A second round pick in 2005, Shelton missed the entire 2005 season with an injured foot. Shelton is a bruising scoring machine whose style of play has been compared to Pittsburgh Steelers standout Jerome Bettis. He is a big, physical inside runner who shows very nimble feet for a player of his size. Shelton will be used as a backup for Larry Johnson.

Drew Carter. Carter is a young, talented receiver with outstanding hands and overall athletic ability … One of the fastest players on the team (4.3 40-yard dash), who can play either receiver spot … Outstanding leaper with the ability to go up and get the ball and is especially dangerous on the fade route in the end zone. Carter will challenge for the third wide receiver spot.

More Acquisitions

Robert Gallery. Gallery is a Prototype lineman, with outstanding speed, superb strength and a very solid build. The number two overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft, Gallery has a bright future and will be the anchor of the Chiefs offensive line for the next decade.

Derrick Burgess. Burgess is coming off a breakout season in which he accumulated 57 tackles and a whopping 16 sacks. Burgess and rising star Jared Allen (11 sacks in 2005) will be one of the leagues best defensive end combos in the league for years to come.

Free Agency has been good to the Kansas City Chiefs. With a limited amount of money to work with, the Chiefs were able to land 3 guys who will step into starting roles in 2006. Depth was also addressed in the signing of 3 more players.

Ryan Pickett. Labeled an underachiever for much of his first three seasons, Pickett found motivation in 2005, started all 16 games for the second straight year, and had 115 tackles, the most in the NFL by any defensive lineman. Starting to become an impressive interior force. Pickett will start immediately for the Chiefs. At only $500,000, Pickett is one of the best value signings of the free agent period.

Tank Williams. Fifth year safety Tank Williams will start immediately at strong safety for the 2006 Chiefs. Williams tallied 78 total tackles in 2005, and should fit in well in a star studded secondary that already includes Patrick Surtain, Chris McAlister, and Sean Taylor.

Michael Lewis. Lewis will step right into the kick and punt return duties in Kansas City. Coming off a season ending injury, Lewis is one of the best kick and punt returners in the league.

Jeff Garcia. Former Pro Bowler Jeff Garcia will act as a backup to newly acquired Michael Vick.

Bart Scott. Bart Scott will provide tremendous depth a linebacker for the Chiefs. While filling in for Ray Lewis in 2005, Scott racked up 92 tackles and 4 sacks. Scott can play inside and outside linebacker, and would slide right into the lineup if an injury were to occur.

Brandon Moore. Moore will provide even more depth at linebacker for the Chiefs. Entering his fifth NFL season, Moore is coming off a season with 72 tackles, 5 sacks, and 1 interception. Moore will act as insurance for newly acquired Lavar Arrington and 2nd year star Derrick Johnson.

Kansas City Chiefs Final Roster

QB
Michael Vick 1400000.00
Jeff Garcia 500,000
Charlie Whitehurst 300,000
Tarvaris Jackson 250,000

The Cheifs totally reworked the quarterback position this offseason. Saying goodbye to Trent Green and his inflated salary, the Chiefs were able to swing a trade for probowler Michael Vick. Jeff Garcia was signed in the offseason to provide a veteran backup. The drafting of Charlie Whitehurst and Tarvaris Jackson provide the Chiefs with 2 players who could become the qb of the future.

RB
Larry Johnson 741000.00
Shelton, Eric 310,000
William Green 545000.00
Smith, McKenzi 235000.00
Wilson, Travis 235000.00
Kyle Johnson 460000

Last season, Larry Johnson emerged as one of the leagues best running backs. This season, behind a revamped offensive line, and new fullback, Johnson will continue to dominate. The Chiefs said goodbye to oft-injured Priest Holmes, but were able to bring in Chris Shelton and William Green to share backup duties. Another big offseason acquisition was former Bronco fullback Kyle Johnson. Johnson is an excellent blocking fullback who also possesses great catching ability out of the backfield.

WR
Terrell Owens 770000.00
Eddie Kennison 2050000.00
Carter, Drew 385,000
Curry, Nate 235000.00
McIntyre, Jeris 235000.00
Michael Lewis 250,000

The Chiefs made a big splash this offseason by acquiring Terrell Owens. Former number one receiver Eddie Kennison will slide into the number 2 receiver role while newly acquired Drew Carter will lineup in the slot. Michael Lewis was also signed to be the new kickoff and punt return specialist.

TE
Tony, Gonzalez 3600000.00
Golliday, Aaron 235000.00
Walden, Willie 235000.00

Tony Gonzalez is still one of the leagues top tight ends. Gonzalez will benefit from the acquisition of Terrell Owens, as he will not be doubled teames as he was last season. Michael Vick is a big fan of using his tight ends, so Gonzalez should be in for a big season.

OL
Robert Gallery LT 650000.00
Brian Waters LG 545000.00
Casey Wiegmann C 1600000.00
Will ShieldsRG 5100000.00
Chris Bober RT 1500000.00
Svitek, Will 310000.00
Parquet, Jeremy 310000.00
Heyer, Peter 235000.00

The Chiefs were able to offset the loss of Willie Roaf with the acquisition of rising star Robert Gallery. Along with two of the best guards in football, the Chiefs line will once again be one of the leagues top units in 2006.

DE
Jared Allen DE Kansas City Chiefs 385000.00
Derrick Burgess 2000000.00
Hicks, Eric DE 2100000.00
Ville, Zack DE 235000.00
Mitchell, Clint DE 235000.00
Freeman, Eddie 385000.00

Jared Allen and Derrick Burgess will combine to be one of the leagues most formidable defensive end pairings this season. In only his second NFL season Allen tallied 11 sacks, while Burgess accumulated 16 sacks in Oakland. This pair should be one of the leagues best tandems in 2006.

DT
Ryan Pickett 500,000
Ryan Sims 1567000.00
Siavii, Junior 410000.00
Montavious Jackson 250,000
Manaia Brown 250,000

Ryan Sims and newly signed Ryan Pickett will start at defensive tackle for the Chiefs. Pickett is coming off his best season as a pro, and should continue to improve in Kansas City. Junior Siavii and draft picks Montavious Jackson and Manaia Brown provide good depth at the position.

LB
Derrick Johnson 310000.00
LaVar Arrington 545,000.00
Kawika Mitchell 460000.00
Brandon Moore 250,000
Grigsby, James 310000.00
Bart Scott 250,000

The linebacking core of the Kansas City Chiefs will be greatly improved this season with the acquisitions of Lavar Arrington, Bart Scott, and Brandon Moore. Arrington, Derrick Johnson, and Kawika Mitchell provide the Chiefs with a great starting core, while Scott and Moore provide great depth.

CB
Patrick Surtain 1335000.00
Chris Mcallister 5500000.00
Jason Webster 1800000.00
Helms, Gabriel 235000.00
Perkins, Justin 235000.00

Chris Mcallister and Patrick Surtain, along with Sean Taylor and Tank Williams will make up one of the leagues best secodaries this season. Surtain and Mcallister are both former pro bowlers who will work great together in shutting down the passing games of opposing teams.

S

Tank Williams 2000000
Sean Taylor 385,000.00
Connot, Scott 310000.00
Woods, Jerome 1600000.00

Newly acquired Sean Taylor and Tank Williams will makeup one of the leagues best safety tandems in 2006. Along with Chris Mcallister and Patrick Surtain, this is one of the best secondaries in recent memory.

Starting the offseason way over the salary cap, the Chiefs did a wonderful job bringing in talented and less expensive players to replace aging veterans. The Chiefs added Michael Vick, Kyle Johnson, Terrell Owens, Eric Shelton, Drew Carter, and Robert Gallery on offense. These additions will make the Chiefs offense a high powered scoring machine in 2006. On defense, the Chiefs were able to add Derrick Burgess, Ryan Pickett, Lavar Arrington, Bart Scott, Brandon Moore, Chris Mcallister, and Sean Taylor. These additions shored up a previously shaky Chiefs defense. The Chiefs front office expects the Chiefs to challenge for a Super Bowl in 2006.
